Supported Countries & Curricula in LearnSpark

LearnSpark tailors lessons by country and curriculum style (NZ, UK, US, AU, Montessori, Cambridge, Steiner, etc.). Content adapts for spelling, culture, and standards so every plan feels local and personalized.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

LearnSpark is designed to work in all English-speaking countries. The platform automatically tailors lesson content and teaching style based on two key choices you make when setting up your account:

  1. Country / Region → ensures cultural relevance, local spelling/grammar, and curriculum standards.

  2. Curriculum Style → ensures educational approach aligns with your philosophy (e.g., National, Montessori, Cambridge, Steiner/Waldorf).

This dual customization means a New Zealand Montessori plan will look and feel different to a UK Montessori or US Montessori plan, even if the underlying approach is the same.

1. Country Personalization

When you select your country, LearnSpark adapts:

  • Curriculum alignment: Matches to national frameworks (e.g., New Zealand Curriculum, UK National Curriculum, Australian Curriculum).

  • Spelling & Grammar: UK English, US English, or localized usage (e.g., “maths” in the UK vs “math” in the US).

  • Cultural references: Literature, history, sports, and examples tied to local culture.

  • Assessment expectations: Adjusts learning outcomes to match local benchmarks.

Examples:

  • New Zealand: Lessons may reference kiwi birds, Māori stories, or rugby examples.

  • UK: References British history, Shakespeare, “maths,” and metric system.

  • US: Includes Thanksgiving, “math,” US history, and US customary measurements.

2. Curriculum Styles

LearnSpark supports both traditional and alternative educational approaches:

  • National Curriculum (NZ, UK, AU, US Common Core) → Structured progression by subject/grade.

  • Montessori → Child-led, hands-on learning, adaptive pacing.

  • Steiner / Waldorf → Storytelling, creativity, rhythm of the seasons, delayed academics.

  • Cambridge International → Rigor, exam preparation, international standards.

  • Other custom setups → Families or tutors can build a hybrid plan.

Examples:

  • UK Montessori: Grammar/spelling follows UK English, cultural references include London transport, Shakespeare, and nature walks in the countryside.

  • US Montessori: Grammar follows American English, references to US history, baseball, and US customary units (inches, miles).

  • NZ Steiner: Incorporates Māori legends, New Zealand seasonal rhythms (Southern Hemisphere), and nature-based activities.

  • Cambridge (Global): Structured around subject exams, with international case studies and critical thinking exercises.

3. How to Choose

When setting up your LearnSpark account, you’ll be asked to:

  1. Select your country.

  2. Select your preferred curriculum style.

  3. (Optional) Add special needs, learning pace, or student interests for even deeper personalization.

The system will then automatically generate adaptive lessons that match both your country and your chosen style.
