When you are invited for a self review, you will also be given a task in Learned to prepare this self review. You can do this via your computer, but it can also be done via Learned's mobile app. This article takes you through how to prepare your self review via the mobile app.

Prepare self review

If you are logged into the Learned mobile app, you will see the task ‘Prepare self review’ directly on your screen. If you are also need to ask colleagues for peer feedback, you will also see this task on your screen.

To start preparing your self review, you can click on the task directly from the home screen. You can also press the menu button at the bottom left, and then go to Reviews in the menu.

If you go via the menu to Reviews, you will arrive at an overview page. Under the tab ‘About you’ you can find all your evaluations from the past and the upcoming ones. Under the ‘All’ tab you will find all conversations in which you participated as a guest, e.g. when you are also a manager.

Here, you also have the ability to order the evaluations, can filter by status and search for a specific evaluation.

From the Reviews page you can also start preparing for your self review. The screen that opens shows the different sections, which you may recognise from the report on the computer:

  • Your tasks: Here you will find your tasks for preparing the self review and possibly asking peers for feedback.

  • Input from others: Here you will see the tasks of your coach(s) and peers.

  • Signatures: This is the section where you can see if your coach has already signed. If so, you can also add your signature from here.

  • Review details: In this section, you have the option to schedule e.g. a date and time for the review. All guests linked to your evaluation, have the option to schedule a date/time.

To get started preparing your self review, tap the task. The screen with the questions will open. You can fill in each question with the answer you want to give there. If it is a score question, it is possible to optionally add a textual explanation if this option is activated by the Admin in the template.

Once you have answered the question, you can use the ‘Next’ button to move on to the next question.

If you see a question you cannot answer because it does not apply to you, you can tick ‘N/A’. You can skip the question this way.

At the top right of your screen, you have a ‘Table of contents’ button. If you click this, all the questions you need to answer in preparation for your interview will appear. The dots in front of the questions also show whether you have already answered a question or not.

💡 Do you get a notification that you have not answered all the questions when you want to share your answers? Then check the table of contents to see which question is still open. It will be indicated in red.

After answering the last question, you get the option to save your answers as a draft. With this option, you do not yet share your input with your coach. When you do share your answers, you make it visible in the report and your coach can see it.

💡 After you have shared your answers, you still have the option to edit your answers. You can do this until your coach signs off on the conversation. Signing will lock the report.

Asking peers for input

For soliciting peer input, you have the option of asking your colleagues. You can also use the ‘Invite external peers’ tab to ask external people for feedback, e.g. one of your customers/clients via their e-mail address.

You have the option to write an invitation message for your peers.

In addition, you can also see the questions you are going to send out to your peers.

Viewing your report

The moment you have made your preparation and shared your answers, you can see your report with your input. If your coach has also shared his answers with you, his input will also appear in the report. On the questions you both answered (e.g. the competences), you can easily compare whether you are on the same page or not. This also gives you a clear overview of where you can possibly improve.

💡 Use any areas for improvement that have emerged, for example, in the competency evaluation as input for a learning goal you want to work on next period.

If you click on a question in your report, you will see more details, e.g. your textual explanation. You also have the option to edit your answer from here.

❗️Note: Editing your answers is only possible as long as your coach has not yet signed off on the conversation with a signature.

Viewing your average score (optional)

Depending on the settings of the review, an average score may be displayed at the bottom of your personal review report. In this, your coach's average score is leading. Of course, you will also see the average of all your scores displayed below it.

💡 Should you have also collected (360-degree) input from colleagues, and this colleague has given scores on all themes, you will also see these reflected in the average scores.

Scroll down to ‘Scores per theme’ to see how this average score is structured. You can also compare your scores per theme with what your coach has filled in, or possibly your colleagues.

Click on the theme to see all the questions that form the average score of that theme.

Summary

Would you like to write notes or a summary before, during or after the interview? You do this by clicking on summary in the review report.

Everything you write is automatically saved as a draft. This means the attendee(s) cannot see it yet. If you want to make your summary visible in the report, click ‘Publish’.

💡: After the summary is published, it can always be reset to draft status, so the input is no longer visible in the report. You can do this by pressing Edit > Reset to draft

You are able to edit the written summary, until the review gets signed for approval.

Next steps

Besides viewing your report, you also have the option to view or add your Next steps. Once you have completed a next step, you also have the option to tick it off via your mobile.

❗️Note: When creating a new Next step, you still need to select the right person for whom the next step is.

Attachments

You can also attach a file to the evaluation report. For example, if you have obtained a certain certificate and want to attach evidence to the review report.

Files in .pdf, .docs .xls, .jpg and .png are allowed with a maximum size of 5MB

You can only remove the files you added yourself from the evaluation report.
