Also available in the Reading Room:

  • eBooks : All Raz-Plus books are available electronically, providing easy access for students to read anytime and anywhere.

  • Nursery Rhymes offer new twists on traditional nursery rhymes, exposing students to various rhyme and rhythm patterns. The repetition in nursery rhymes helps students identify sound patterns, which is crucial for developing phonological awareness and reading success.

  • Poetry Books help bolster students' listening and reading fluency skills. They provide opportunities to practice reading with appropriate pitch, intonation, and inflection. Poems with a story-like structure also aid in comprehension skills, such as sequencing events and understanding story elements.

  • Song Books help students understand the rhyme and rhythm of language, similar to poetry and nursery rhymes. The addition of melody and beat supports students' enjoyment of reading. These books encourage students to sing along with highlighted words, enhancing their engagement and learning.

  • Alphabet Books are designed to help students recognize and name both uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet. Learning to identify letters is a fundamental step in learning to read.

  • Sound/Symbol Books support students in learning about the relationship between sounds and symbols, also known as letter-sound correspondence. This knowledge is essential for decoding words and reading fluently.

  • Decodable Books are designed to reinforce phonics skills and improve reading proficiency. After receiving explicit and systematic phonics instruction, students can apply their learning by reading decodable eBooks.

  • High-Frequency Word Books prepare students for reading success by introducing the most commonly used words in printed text. The books feature three sets of high-frequency words in an easy-to-read format, including rebuses for non-high-frequency words.

  • Read-Aloud Books target specific sounds and can be paired with phonics lessons that correspond to the book's target sound. These books also build critical phonemic awareness skills, which are essential for reading development.

  • Shared Reading titles help build foundational skills important for early readers, such as print concepts and reading strategies. Each title includes a printable student version and two projectable versions for whole-class activities, along with a five-day lesson plan.

  • Graphic Books present informational text in an engaging and entertaining format. They appeal to visual learners and struggling or reluctant readers. Each Graphic Book pairs with a related book for additional reading on the same topic.

  • Close Reading Packs encourage students to carefully analyze the text of multiple passages. They engage in small-group or whole-class discussions to answer a Key Question, promoting deeper comprehension and critical thinking skills.

There are also additional resources available for teachers to print and project, including Fluency, Comprehension, Tutoring & Mentoring Packs, and many more.
