To import gift cards with balances, you will need to conduct two separate imports. First, you'll have to do a Giftcard import to get the cards in the system.
Secondly, you'll have to do a Giftcard Transactions import to update their balances.
To start your Imports.
Navigate to Imports
Go to 'Data' and select ‘Imports’.
Start a New Import
Select ‘New import’ and choose ‘Giftcards’ as the import type then proceed.
Make sure to use the option "Create new Giftcards"
Upload the Gift Card File
Select your gift card file (ensure it is in CSV format).
Click ‘Next Step’ to proceed.
Mapping Columns
Under ‘Data’, select which columns in your file correspond to the attributes required. You will need to map the code of the Giftcard and the expiration date.
Click ‘Assign' on your column and choose the corresponding attribute.
Configure Information
Under the ‘Options’ tab, decide whether the gift cards are upgradable.
Upgradeable means their balance can be increased or topped up.
Assign the gift cards to a gift card program and click ‘Next Step’
Complete the Import Process
Click on ‘Import’ to start your import
Once the process has been completed, you can navigate to 'Store' -> 'Giftcards' to see if your cards are imported correctly.
You will need to import the Giftcard balances next.
Please note that Giftcard Balances have to be imported in Cents

Upload the Gift Card File
Select your gift card file (ensure it is in CSV format).
Click ‘Next Step’ to proceed.
Mapping Columns
Under ‘Data’, select which columns in your file correspond to the attributes required. You will need to map the giftcard code and balance in cents, to link them.
Configure Information
Under the Options tab, enable Update Expiration Date only if the imported gift cards do not already include an expiration date.
Assign the gift cards to a Business Profile. This is the location on which the transactions will be registered.
Complete the Import Process
Click on ‘Import’ to start your import
The gift cards have now been imported and upgraded!
