How to connect Lebesgue to ChatGPT using MCP

The Lebesgue plugin for ChatGPT lets you ask questions about your store’s performance using live data from your Lebesgue account.

Written by Tony Perko

Overview

The Lebesgue plugin for ChatGPT lets you ask questions about your store’s performance using live data from your Lebesgue account.

You can analyze advertising, revenue, customer lifetime value, competitors, Le Pixel attribution, Klaviyo performance, and AI visibility directly inside ChatGPT.

The connection is read-only. ChatGPT can retrieve and analyze your data, but it cannot change anything in your store or Lebesgue account.

Note: ChatGPT now refers to apps as plugins. The setup described in this guide uses a custom plugin powered by the Model Context Protocol, or MCP.

What you can do

Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT questions about your business in plain language.

For example:

  • “What was my ROAS last week, broken down by channel?”

  • “Compare my Meta and Google ad spend this month and tell me which performed better.”

  • “Which products generated the most new-customer revenue in the last 30 days?”

  • “What is the 90-day LTV of customers acquired through Facebook compared with Google?”

  • “How is my average order value trending this quarter?”

  • “How are my competitors performing, and which one is growing fastest?”

  • “What is my AI visibility score, and where am I losing to competitors?”

  • “Summarize yesterday’s revenue, orders, ad spend, and ROAS.”

ChatGPT will answer using the live data available in your Lebesgue account.

Before you begin

You need:

  • A Lebesgue account with at least one connected shop.

  • A ChatGPT plan and role that support custom MCP plugins.

  • Access to ChatGPT on the web.

Some answers depend on the features enabled for your Lebesgue shop. For example:

  • Competitor data requires competitor tracking to be configured.

  • AI visibility data requires a completed AI visibility scan.

  • Le Pixel attribution requires Le Pixel to be installed and active.

  • Klaviyo data requires an active Klaviyo connection.

These features must also have collected enough data for the date range you are asking about.

You do not need an API key or client secret. Authentication is handled through OAuth with read-only access, and you can revoke access at any time.

Connect Lebesgue to ChatGPT

Lebesgue is added to ChatGPT as a custom MCP plugin.

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web.

  2. Open your profile menu and select Settings.

  3. Select Security and login.

  4. Scroll down and enable Developer mode.

  5. Return to the main screen and select Plugins.

  6. Click the plus icon to create a new plugin.

  7. Enter the following information:

    • Name: Lebesgue

    • Connection: https://api.lebesgue.io/mcp

    • Authentication: OAuth

  8. In the window that opens, sign in with your Lebesgue account and approve access.

After the plugin is created, it will appear under Plugins → Installed.

Business and Enterprise workspaces

The setup process may be controlled by your workspace:

  • On ChatGPT Business, only workspace admins and owners can enable developer mode and deploy a custom MCP app.

  • On ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu, an admin may need to grant developer access before a user can enable developer mode.

  • Workspace admins may need to publish the app before other members can use it.

Verify the connection

  1. Start a new ChatGPT conversation.

  2. Open the Tools menu in the message box.

  3. Select the Lebesgue app.

You can also refer to Lebesgue directly in your prompt. ChatGPT supports selecting a custom plugin from the tools menu or invoking it by name in your request.

Try asking:

Using Lebesgue, summarize yesterday’s performance, including revenue, orders, ad spend, and ROAS.

The connection is working when ChatGPT answers using data from your Lebesgue account.

When your account has access to more than one shop, ChatGPT may ask which shop you mean. You can also include the shop’s domain directly in your question.

For example:

Using Lebesgue, summarize yesterday’s performance for my-store.myshopify.com.

Disconnect Lebesgue from ChatGPT

  1. Open your profile menu in ChatGPT.

  2. Select Plugins.

  3. Find the Lebesgue plugin.

  4. Open its settings and select Uninstall.

Troubleshooting

ChatGPT does not use the Lebesgue plugin

Make sure Lebesgue is selected from the Tools menu before submitting your question.

You can also explicitly name the plugin in your prompt:

Using Lebesgue, compare my Meta and Google performance this month.

ChatGPT asks which store you mean

Your Lebesgue account may have access to more than one connected shop.

Include the shop’s domain in your question and try again.

For example:

Using Lebesgue, what was yesterday’s revenue for my-store.myshopify.com?

ChatGPT cannot answer using your Lebesgue data

Make sure you are authenticated with a Lebesgue user who has access to the shop you are asking about.

When you have recently connected a new store, advertising account, or other data source, allow time for the initial data import to finish.

You can also confirm that the Lebesgue plugin is still connected under Plugins → Installed.

A specific feature returns no data

Confirm that the required feature is configured and has collected data:

  • Competitors: Competitor tracking must be set up.

  • AI visibility: At least one AI visibility scan must be completed.

  • Le Pixel: Le Pixel must be installed and active on your plan.

Le Pixel only tracks orders from its installation date onward, so data may be limited or unavailable for earlier date ranges.

You do not see Developer mode or Create

Confirm that your ChatGPT plan and workspace role support custom MCP plugins.

  • Pro users must enable developer mode to connect a read-only MCP plugins.

  • Business users must be workspace admins or owners.

  • Enterprise and Edu users may need an administrator to grant developer access.

  • Plus users do not currently have access to custom MCP plugins.

The connection or authorization fails

Confirm that:

  • You are signing in with a Lebesgue user who has access to the relevant shop.

  • You entered the MCP server URL correctly: https://api.lebesgue.io/mcp

  • Your browser allows the OAuth authorization window to open.

  • Your ChatGPT plan and workspace role support custom MCP plugins.

Privacy and data access

The Lebesgue plugin:

  • Has read-only access.

  • Cannot modify your store or Lebesgue account.

  • Does not have access to raw individual order records.

  • Can be disconnected at any time from Plugins.

For more information, see the Lebesgue Privacy Policy.

Interface note: OpenAI regularly updates the terminology and interface for plugins and MCP integrations. Some labels may differ slightly from those shown in this guide, but the MCP server URL and OAuth authorization process remain the same.
