1. About the Change
What is changing?
Access Legal Compliance is receiving a refreshed design — a new look and feel that is cleaner, more modern, and more intuitive. The update covers the interface and navigation of the platform; it does not change how the system works, or any of your compliance processes.
The first phase includes the Homepage, File Audits, Complaints, Breach Reporting, and PII Claims modules. The remaining modules will follow in future releases.
Why are you changing the look and feel of Legal Compliance?
We have been listening to feedback from our users, and it told us clearly that the platform could be easier and more pleasant to use day to day. In response, we have redesigned the interface to be cleaner, more modern, and more intuitive — reducing the visual noise so you can focus on the task in front of you.
The refreshed design improves navigation and task visibility, so you can see at a glance what needs your attention and get things done with fewer clicks. We want the platform to feel as straightforward to use as possible, whether you are logging a complaint for the first time or running your monthly audit schedule.
This is an ongoing commitment. We will continue to listen to your feedback and use it to shape future improvements to the platform.
Which modules are getting the new experience first?
The following modules are included in the first release:
Homepage
File Audits
Complaints
Breach Reporting
PII Claims
Will more modules follow?
Yes. The remaining modules — including Risk Register, Undertakings, Money Laundering Suspicions, and others — will be updated in future releases. We will communicate when each module is ready.
Where have the reports gone?
Reports are now built directly into each updated module’s homepage rather than being in a separate section. When you open File Audits, Complaints, Breach Reporting, or PII Claims, you will find the reporting functionality right there — no need to navigate elsewhere.
This change only applies to the updated modules. Reports for any module not yet updated remain in their current location.
When will this be available?
The new design will be available from 18 May 2026. You will not be switched over automatically — you can try it when you are ready.
2. Getting Started
How do I access the new experience?
When you log in on or after 18 May 2026, there are two ways to try the new design:
A banner at the top of the page — click it to switch immediately, or dismiss it with the × button if you are not ready.
A “Try the New Look” option in the side menu — available any time you are ready.
There is no obligation to switch straight away. You can try the new design and switch back at any time if you need to.
Where do I find the toggle?
The option to switch between the new and classic design is found in the side navigation menu. Once you have switched to the new experience, a “Switch to Classic” option will appear in the same menu.
Can I switch back to the old interface if I need to?
Yes. Once you have switched to the new design, a “Switch to Classic” option will be available in the side menu. You can move between the two versions freely at any time during the rollout period.
How long will the option to switch back be available?
The option to revert to the classic interface will be available throughout the initial rollout period. We will give advance notice before the classic interface is phased out, so you will have plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the new design before any change is made permanent.
3. Impact on My Team
Will my data be affected?
No. All your existing data remains in the system exactly as it was. The new design simply presents that data in a refreshed format. Nothing is removed, altered, or archived as part of this update.
Will my settings and configuration carry over?
Yes. All your firm’s settings, permissions, and configuration remain exactly the same:
Supervisors will continue to see everything they have always had access to
Standard users will only see their own records and tasks, as before
Module-level access remains controlled by your firm’s administrators
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
No action is required. The new design will become available automatically when you log in on or after 18 May. There is no data migration, setup, or configuration needed on your part.
Will my team need training before they can use the new interface?
The new design is intended to be intuitive and familiar. Core workflows remain the same, so most users will be able to pick it up without formal training. Guidance materials will be available, and our Customer Success team can provide support if needed.
Can different users in my firm use different versions at the same time?
Yes. Switching is a per-user choice and applies only to the individual account. One user can be on the new design while another continues to use the classic interface — this will not cause any conflicts or affect shared data.
I use the system for Lexcel or CQS accreditation — will anything change for me?
No. The compliance functionality that supports your accreditation requirements — audit trails, corrective actions, reporting, task management — is all preserved. The update changes how the system looks, not how it works.
4. Getting Help
Where can I find guidance on using the new interface?
Guidance materials will be made available ahead of and alongside the release. Our Customer Success team is available to help with any questions.
Who do I contact if I find something isn’t working as expected?
Please raise a support request in the usual way. You can find guidance on how to get support here: Get support in Legal Compliance
How do I share feedback about the new experience?
We welcome your feedback — it is what drives our decisions about the platform. You can share it by contacting our Customer Success team. Your input will help shape future improvements.
5. Looking Ahead
Will the old interface be retired eventually?
Our focus right now is on making the new experience as good as it can be and giving everyone the time they need to move across comfortably. We are not putting a deadline on the classic interface, and we will always communicate any future changes well in advance.
We want this to be a smooth transition for everyone. You will always be given plenty of notice before anything changes.
How will I be kept informed of further changes?
We will communicate updates through:
Release notes published alongside each update
The Monthly Legal Compliance newsletter
In-product notifications via the Digital Assistant
If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Success team.
