Design Refresh - May 2026

Introducing a refreshed navigation, insights dashboards and a modern look across Audits, Complaints and Breach Reporting

We’re delighted to announce the biggest visual overhaul Access Legal Compliance has had in years, and the start of a wider programme to make the system feel more modern and more intuitive to use every day.

Everything you already know still works the way it did. All your data, settings and permissions stay exactly as they are, and you choose when to switch over – you can move to the new design at your own pace, and switch back to the classic interface at any time during the rollout.

What's new

  • Refreshed left-side navigation – modules listed directly with icons, accessible from every page. Fewer clicks to get anywhere.

  • Task list with tabs and task type – All Tasks, My Tasks and Group Tasks tabs, plus the task type (“Schedule”, “Corrective Action”, “Acknowledgement”, “Remedial Action”) shown on every row so you know what’s required before you open it.

  • Insights at the top of every refreshed module – visual charts for status, trends and breakdowns, each with a “View Data” drill-through to the records behind them.

  • Tabbed records, tasks and reports – the three areas now share one component in every refreshed module, with consistent filters and sortable columns.

  • Section-based forms – Add Audit, Add Complaint and Log Breach are now grouped into clear sections with consistent dropdowns for Office, Department and Practice Area.

  • Read-only record view – completed records open in a clean read-only view with record details, Notes, Attachments and History tabs.

Module summary

Common across all four modules: a new Insights area at the top with visual charts, a tabbed records/tasks/reports layout, and the refreshed navigation and task list.

And here's what's changed in each module:

  • Homepage – task type displayed on every row, quick action icons in the Actions column, search and filters on the task list. Modules respect existing permissions.

  • Audits – Insights cover status, completed by month, and by department. Audit creation is now section-based with auto-save and live question progress, completed audits open in a read-only view, and Task and Print actions have been standardised.

  • Complaints – Insights support a Carousel/Grid view with a date-range filter. The Add Complaint form has been regrouped into clearer sections, with consistent filters and clearer task type labels.

  • Breach Reporting – Insights include a remedial action / no remedial action split. The Log Breach form has a tidied Breach Type selection (SRA, ICO), overdue Next Dates are highlighted in red, and status badges have been refreshed.

How to access this update

The new design is opt-in, Users will see a banner on the homepage and a “Try the New Look” option in the side navigation, allowing them to switch to the refreshed interface at their own pace. They can switch back to the classic interface at any time during the rollout.

No action is required from firm administrators. All firm configuration, permissions, user groups, workflow setup and historical data carry over unchanged.

The new design option is available to every user role.

What stays the same

Every record, task, attachment and historical entry is preserved exactly as it was. All permissions, module access, and firm configuration (offices, departments, practice areas, user groups and workflow setup) carry over unchanged. Supervisors continue to see everything they always had; standard users only see their own records and tasks. Only modules your firm has enabled and the user has been granted will be visible.

What’s next

This is just the start, the next phase will bring the same modern, more intuitive experience to the remaining modules including Risk Register, Undertakings, Money Laundering Suspicions, Client Feedback, Periodic Review, Gift & Hospitality Register, PII Claims and Referrals. We’ll let customers know as each one is ready.
