<!-- EDITOR NOTES (delete before publishing)
!!! ON HOLD (T, 21 Oct. 2026): do not publish until T says so (artist agreement being reviewed). !!!
- !!! DO NOT PUBLISH THIS ARTICLE BEFORE T ANSWERS BF-Q13 (licence and terms). !!!
The facts conflict (BUSINESS_FACTS CP2, CP3, R5):
- The old help article and the Studio FAQ say "you keep your copyright; uploading only lets us produce what is ordered".
- The 2019 artist contract that the portal still links (src/assets/files/1909_Artist_Contract_Revised.pdf) grants Le Galeriste an EXCLUSIVE worldwide licence on the artwork for clothing, fashion and home accessories (1 year, renewed automatically), and the portal's publish pop-up repeats its "royalties of 10 to 25 %, paid quarterly" model, which is not how earnings work today (W2).
This draft is the "safe version" (option b). If T chooses (a), the "Your copyright" section and the "Artist agreement" section must be rewritten.
- Screenshots to take: step 2 of the bag with the "I accept the terms of sale" checkbox and its link.
- Check in the portal before publishing: that the terms-of-sale window opens from the link next to the checkbox (its buttons "back to order" / "I ACCEPT" are in English even in French, PORTAL_FACTS §22.16).
- TO CONFIRM items in this article: BF-Q13 (which agreement applies, and the URL of "our terms").
- Other:
- Do NOT link legaleriste.com/en/privacy as "terms": it is a 2015 privacy policy. legaleriste.com/en/conditions-of-use is an empty placeholder (BUSINESS_FACTS CP3).
- Company name and address differ between documents (BF-Q15): none given here.
- Removed: "20,000 artists and some of the largest museums" (no current source), "check 'I have read and accept the terms' when you fill the design request form" (old flow).

You keep the copyright of your art. We make only what is ordered: by you in your portal, by your customers on your storefront, or by the boutiques you share collections with.
Your copyright
Your artworks are yours. You keep their copyright.
When you add art to your portal, it is so we can make the pieces that are ordered with it. [TO CONFIRM BF-Q13: the 2019 contract linked in the portal grants an exclusive licence; keep this sentence only if T chooses option (b)]
We make every piece in our own atelier in Montréal.
We make only what is ordered
We never make anything without your consent, and your order is that consent:
Your orders. A piece is made when you order it and pay for it in your bag.
Your storefront. When you publish a piece on your storefront, it can be seen and bought by everyone. When a customer orders it there, we make it and ship it. To stop selling a piece, unpublish it (G2).
Your boutiques. When you share a collection with a boutique, it can order the pieces in that collection (H2).
The terms of sale for your orders
The terms that apply to your portal orders are in your bag:
Go to step 2 of your bag (Shipping).
Click the link in I accept the terms of sale to read them.
Tick the box to accept them before you continue to payment.
They cover, among other things, cancelling an order, defects and returns, caring for your pieces, and ship dates.

Orders placed on our public Studio website (legaleriste.info) follow the Studio terms: legaleriste.info/terms.
Artist agreement
[TO CONFIRM BF-Q13: which artist agreement applies today, and its URL] We are updating our artist agreement. Until the new version is published, write to team@legaleriste.com or use the chat bubble at the bottom right of the portal if you have a question about your rights or would like a copy.
