B4 Why did my upload disappear? Temporary Studio uploads

New art you upload in the Studio stays on that device for 24 hours, until you save or buy a piece with it.

Written by Elise

Art you upload in the Studio is kept only in this browser, on this device, for 24 hours. It is saved for good as soon as you save an idea or add a piece to your bag with it. If you don't, it disappears after 24 hours.

Why your upload may have disappeared

  • More than 24 hours have passed.

  • You're on another computer, phone, tablet or browser. Temporary uploads don't follow you.

  • You were in a private (incognito) window and closed or reloaded it.

  • Your browser's history or site data was cleared.

We can't get it back for you: the file was never sent to us. Upload it again from your computer.

How to keep your art for good

  1. In the Studio, click the + tile, Upload new art, and choose your file.

  2. The art appears in Your art with a small clock showing the hours left, and the line "Kept on this device for … Save or buy a piece with it to keep it for good."

  3. Place it on a silhouette, then click Save idea or Save and add to bag.

  4. The first time, a window About this art asks four things:

    • Name (filled in from the file name; change it if you like);

    • Seam colour: Grey, Black or White;

    • Technique (Painting, Drawing, Photography…);

    • Style (Fine Art, Abstract, Landscape…).

  5. Click Save the art and continue. Your art is now saved for good: it appears on the ART page and on all your devices, and your save or bag continues.

If you click Not now, nothing is saved and the art stays temporary.

Good to know

  • The four questions are asked only once per artwork. You can change the answers later on the ART page (pen icon).

  • To remove a temporary upload, click the × on its picture (Remove this artwork).

  • Art you've already saved is safe. It's on the ART page and in Your art on every device.

  • New art stays unpublished. Publish it yourself when you're ready (see "Managing your art").

  • Switching devices, or stopping for the day? Save at least one idea with your new art first.

  • Your file must be a JPG or PNG of at least 6 megapixels. See "Art files".
