Here’s everything you need to know about using the “Manage Prices” feature now available on your Artist Portal which allows you to choose the retail price offered to your customers between Aggressive, Standard, or Premium.

FAQ

How do I access the tool?

  • Choose "Manage Prices" from the drop-down list.

What can I do with this tool?

You can edit your Retail Prices (prices shown to your clients on your Storefront) and you can apply discounts to your products.

Here are the different ways you can edit pricing :

  • One shape at a time: You can edit prices one shape at a time by clicking on the $ signs below the Retail Price column. For example, changing the Retail Price of the Kate Dress will change the price of all the Kate Dresses in your offering;

  • All prices at once: You can also opt to edit all your prices at once by clicking on the "Apply Retail Prices" buttons: Aggressive for 15% less than Standard Retail price, Standard Retail price, or Premium Retail price for 15% more than Standard Retail price;

  • Host a promo on your Storefront: You can apply a temporary discount to any or all shapes;

    * Don't forget to SAVE your changes! *

What are Retail Profits?

  • Retail Profits are the difference between the price you sell the product for (the Retail price) and your cost (the Base Cost).

How to choose my Price?

You may choose :

  • A Competitive Price, which will give you a 15% margin on the Base Cost OR

  • A Premium Price, which will give you a 50% margin on the Base Cost OR

  • A Standard Price, which will give you a 30% margin on the Base Cost.

I see I can change prices by shape but can I also do so by-product?

  • This option isn’t available for now.

Can I revert to the original price list?

  • You sure can, any time!

    • In “Manage Prices”, click on "Reset Factory Settings" & "Save Changes"

Can you apply a discount on my behalf?

  • Not anymore; only you can discount products on your Storefront now. We will, however, offer different promotions on the Base Cost, which will increase your profits should you choose not to share the promo on your Storefront. You could also choose to increase your sales volume if you decide to share the promotion with your customers; we recommend the latter.

Where can I see my new sales and Retail Profits?

  • Log in to your Portal at https://portal.legaleriste.com;

  • Click on the avatar-looking icon at the top-right of your page;

  • Choose "My Wallet" from the drop-down list;

How to calculate the Retail Profit?

  • Your Retail Profit = Your chosen Retail Price minus your chosen Discount (if any) minus the Base Cost

How does Le Galeriste calculate the Base Cost?

  • The Base Cost is the best price we can offer artists at this point. It includes production costs and our gross profit margin to pay for our staff, our office space, the technology we use to make Wearable Art possible, etc.

How do you calculate the Suggested Retail Price?

  • The Suggested Retail Price is less of an exact science, however there is a rule of thumb when it comes to margins in fashion and it’s derived from the level of risk you take.

    Here are a few example scenarios :

  • Drop-shipping : This is when you get a client to purchase but you let another company (third party) handle transactions, fulfillment, logistics, etc., which is exactly what the Storefront does for you. This approach should generate anywhere between 10 and 25% gross profit margin for the designer;

  • Distribution & Small Retailing : Here, you carry a small inventory and resell your products on your own OR you gather orders before placing one larger order officially. This is exactly what we expect from your orders of 3 to 12 units per style; these should generate about 20% to 30% if you’re not retailing yourself and 45 to 55% if you’re retailing everything yourself;

  • Large Volume Purchases : This approach should generate about 25 to 35% if you’re selling to third parties that’ll handle the retail side of things (see "Distribution & Small Retailing" above) and 60 to 70% margin if you’re retailing yourself.

  • What we know is the Base Cost; then, we estimate the Suggested Retail Price based on these expectations of the fashion industry.

When will I get paid?

  • All Retail Profits move to your Wallet as soon as the Retail transaction is placed.

How will I get paid

  • You’ll make withdrawals from the Wallet (via Paypal or bank transfer) and/or use the Wallet to pay for Wholesale orders on your Portal;

Are there any fees I should be aware of?

  • Minor transaction fees may apply to all withdrawals of less than $100. Any withdrawals of 100$ or more are free of charge.
