It was brought to our attention that some units of the YK Kimono (WBL06) would show minor tearing at the neckline. This issue kept arising here and there even after a thorough review of our quality control.
Approved products that show defects only after being shipped are a serious issue mostly because we have no way of spotting them.
Over the last two weeks, we have investigated many possibilities:
Are we using the right needles?
Do we have a new seamstress on the team that would require further training?
Are we stitching the labels correctly?
Did we receive a defective lot of fabric?
It turns out that some kimonos were printed upside down. This is a problem since this fabric is one-way (ie: the threads are knit in a way that locks the fabric from top to bottom but not the other way around. This feature provides a great feel to the fabric but it will weaken the product if assembled upside down)
The problem is now solved. Reminder: you have 45 days from Shipping Date to report a defect via your order link and have the units sent back to production at no cost.
