[New] How to search and filter uploaded files

This article explains how to find uploaded contracts and my templates using various search and filter options in LegalOn.


Search Methods

You can search using the following four methods. Combine them for more precise results:

  1. Free-text search

  2. Filter by workspace

  3. Apply advanced filters (contracts only)

  4. Sort by file information


1. Free-text search

You can perform keyword searches within the [Contracts] or [My templates] lists.

Steps:

  1. Open the Contracts or My templates list.

  2. Click the search box, enter your keyword(s), and press Enter.

Searchable fields include:

  • File contents (text inside the document)

  • File name

  • Contract title

  • Notes

  • Your company name

  • Counterparty name

The results will be displayed in the same list view.

2. Filter by workspace

Use the [Workspace] button (upper-left of the screen) to limit your search to a specific workspace.

3. Apply advanced filters (Contracts Only)

To narrow down results further within the Contracts list:

  1. Click the [Filter] button.

  2. Apply filters using the following criteria:

Filter option

Notes

Added by

File uploader

Internal party

Your company name. Use spaces to search for multiple companies.

Counterparty

Same as above

Contract status

Version

Contract type (category / subcategory / position)

Language

4. Sort by file information

You can sort the file list by:

  • File name

  • Upload date

Click the column header to toggle between ascending and descending order.

  • You can also customize which columns are shown in the list.

  • You can also search across files, clauses, and matters from the global header at the top of the screen.
