LegalOn Assistant can revise existing clause text directly within your contract. This article explains how to instruct the AI to make edits and apply them automatically with Track Changes.
What you can do
Instruct LegalOn Assistant to revise existing clauses directly in your contract.
Revisions are automatically applied with Track Changes enabled. LegalOn Assistant also provides an explanation of what was changed and why.
If the result does not match your expectations, you can provide additional instructions to refine the edit.
Example prompts:
"Change the governing law to New York State law."
"Revise Section 5 to be more favorable to the Disclosing Party."

Important notes and limitations
Editing tips
This feature is only available in Microsoft Word for the web or the Word Add‑in. It is not supported in the Standard Editor.
This feature is designed to revise existing clauses. Drafting a full contract or an entirely new clause is currently outside its intended use.
Edits are applied to one contract at a time.
Contracts that use automatic paragraph numbering or soft line breaks (Shift + Enter) may not revise as expected.
While the AI is processing, please wait for LegalOn Assistant to complete the revision. Interacting during this time may cause manual edits to be lost or trigger errors in other features (e.g., Contract Risk Check, AI Revise).
Contracts over 100 pages or with very long clauses may take longer to process or encounter errors.
Instruction tips
If you'd like to revert an edit, you can use Word's undo (Ctrl+Z) or Track Changes to reject changes. Edits can't be reversed by prompting the Assistant again.
The Assistant works best with content-focused revision instructions. Formatting changes (e.g., "Convert to a table" or "Change the font size") are not currently supported.
We recommend sending only one instruction per conversation. If you notice unexpected behavior, click "New conversation" to reset the session.
