1. What is AI Revise?

AI Revise is a Generative AI (GenAI) tool — powered by GPT (a Large Language Model, or LLM) — that generates professional-grade revisions in mere seconds. With one click, users can leverage AI Revise to have LegalOn suggestions directly incorporated into their contract.

AI Revise is displayed as a button under LegalOn risk alerts on the Editor page.

2. Why should I use AI Revise?

AI Revise is unlike any GenAI contract review tool on the market today. Here's what our users love about the tool:

  • AI Revise consistently produces professional-grade edits, which was only achievable through 1000s of attorney-led tests to validate that we’re delivering reliable, trustworthy, and precise results

  • AI Revise is directly informed by expert legal guidance, written by lawyers. It’s also built on top of our AI Review technology

  • AI Revise works right off the shelf – no playbooks, implementation, or preparation on behalf of the customer is required

  • AI Revise revisions keep the context of the contract in mind. The revisions include proper capitalization, punctuation, numbering, and harmonization of legal terms

  • AI Revise leaves the contract reviewer in the driver seat

    • Typically, contract reviewers will be wholly satisfied with the output and not want to make any manual changes

    • However, if the contract reviewer wants to make a tweak, they have the ability to edit easily. If they don’t like it at all, they can undo it easily.

3. What limitations should I be aware of?

AI Revise is powered by GPT, which is a rapidly evolving LLM. Like any GenAI tool, the time-saving potential is huge — but it's important to take notice of its limitations.

Here is a summary of the current limitations for AI Revise:

  1. Button Not Displayed or Disabled: AI Revise is hidden or disabled when our technology predicts when the tool’s output may not meet our high standards.

  2. Errors: On occasion, an error will occur when GPT is communicating with our system. In this scenario, we'll notify you of the error, and it's in your best interest to make a manual edit for that particular LegalOn alert.

  3. Formatting: OpenAI’s GPT cannot always generate a revision that is perfectly aligned to your contract’s unique formatting. Fortunately, the manual fix is typically quick and easy. Examples include:

    • Removing an extra line or space

    • Indenting the output

    • Aligning the bullets or numbering

  4. Tables: AI Revise is not compatible with tables. On occasion, the presence of a table may prevent the AI Revise buttons from being displayed at all on Editor.

  5. Strikethroughs: AI Revise cannot generate output if unedited text (black text) contains strikethroughs. Text within the edit history, which appears as colored text, can still contain strikethroughs. To remove strikethroughs, select (highlight) the affected text and deselect (unclick) the hovering "S" icon. Then, try AI Revise again.

Our team is actively working to overcome limitations for our users. Each month, we release updates that materially reduce the volume of noticeable limitations.
