Purpose
The goal of this article is to help you understand how saving and versioning work in LegalOn Contract AI. We will explore the following topics:
1. While using LegalOn Contract AI, when are my contracts saved to the local directory?
There are two ways to save your contracts to your local directory.
β In Microsoft Word, click <File>, then <Save> or <Save as...>
Click <File> and then choose <Save> or <Save as...> to save the contract and any edits to your local directory, such as your desktop or a shared drive installed on your desktop (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive).
β‘ Reviewing a contract will automatically save any unsaved changes to your local directory.
The following modal will appear when you click "Start Review":
Clicking "OK" will authorize LegalOn Contract AI to save any unsaved changes by overwriting the existing contract.
2. When does LegalOn Contract AI save my contracts to the web app?
All contracts that have been reviewed by LegalOn Contract AI are reflected on the Dashboard page of the LegalOn web app.
One exception: If a user clicks "Update Review" without making any changes to a previously reviewed document, LegalOn will not create a duplicate version of the existing document in the web app, as no changes are detected.
β Save to a NEW version family
When you review a contract for the first time, it will be saved as a new version family in the LegalOn web app and will appear on the Dashboard after you refresh.
β‘ Save to an EXISTING version family
After updating a contract, you may want to review it again with LegalOn.
Upon returning to the Review tab, LegalOn Contract AI will recognize it as a previously reviewed document.
Simply click "Update Review."
The updated document will then appear as a new version within the existing version family on the LegalOn web app.
