NOTE: This feature is available for our partner schools and districts that have installed the Canvas API with Legends of Learning. For more information on Canvas integration, please email heroes@legendsoflearning.com.

  • If your school or district has installed the LTI (you see Legends of Learning in your Course Navigation Menu), but not the API, you can use the external tool feature to bring assignments from Legends of Learning to Canvas.

In order to send Legends of Learning assignments to Canvas, you must have done the following:

Once your assignment is Live or Scheduled, you can send it directly to Canvas for students to access.

To start, click Assignments on the left navigation menu.

Then select to view your assignments in List View or Calendar View.

Find the Live or Scheduled assignment for which you would like to send to Canvas. Hover over the three dots to the far right of the assignment under the ACTION section and select Send Link to LMS.

In the window that appears, select Canvas. You may be prompted to sign in to your Canvas account if you are not already logged in.

Next, confirm the groups that will receive the assignment in Canvas.

  • If any groups are missing, exit the window and edit the assignment using the purple edit icon to add any additional Canvas groups that should receive the assignment.

  • If your assignment is not assigned to your Canvas groups, you will be prompted to select the group(s) before proceeding.

Click the Send to Canvas button.

A confirmation window will appear confirming that the assignment has been posted to Canvas.

The window also provides important information about managing your assignment in Canvas, including:

  • If you end or delete this assignment in Legends of Learning, you must do the same in Canvas.

  • To send student progress or question scores to your Canvas grade book, use the “Send Scores to LMS” button.

Click Got it to close the window.

Your students can now click the assignment from Canvas in order to play!
