🏫 What?
Leland partners with university career centers to help prepare their students for upcoming job interviews and assist in general career preparation. For most of our partners, they specifically need Leland’s help conducting mock interviews and giving their students feedback.
We will be matching students based on their industry, prospective company, and interests, and we’ll send these high-intent students to you through “opportunities” in your coach dashboard. Each student will receive at least one mock interview session covered by the university and each session will be 45 minutes in length. Universities generally expect each coach to spend ~30 mins doing mock interview questions and ~10-15 mins providing feedback and helping their students skill up. Please ensure that your sessions comped by universities are 45 minutes only - you won’t be compensated for going over.
At the conclusion of the interview, we will send you a link to fill out a brief formal feedback form. This will have two questions: (1) What did the student do well? (2) What are their opportunities to work on? Please provide 3-5 pieces of meaningful feedback for each question.
These partnerships have the opportunity to expand, so we want to provide universities with the best possible experience. Additionally, our hope is that many of these leads will want to purchase additional time after their university-funded sessions are used.
⏱️ When?
Interviews will come in waves throughout the year. Many students will have impending interviews within a few days to a few weeks. Please do your best to make the first scheduled appointment work and avoid rescheduling, if possible. If you must reschedule, please do so within a reasonable amount of time or flag the opportunity to us so we can match them with another coach.
Some of our university partners are in Europe, so please consider opening up your schedules to accommodate those time zones.
If there are any troubles with session scheduling, please notify us immediately, so we can help resolve or get the student matched with another coach.

Come Prepared — Preparing for the sessions will ensure these students walk away with a positive experience and you receive a 5 star review for your coaching.
Clear Communication — Be responsive and clearly identify what the student wants/needs help with before the session, so that you coach them effectively.
Stay Positive and Motivating — Be positive and uplifting with your communication/feedback with students.
Give Actionable, Clear Feedback — Provide specific, step-by-step feedback to help students improve effectively.
Provide Extra Tips and Resources — Share any additional resources and strategies to help students prepare outside of sessions.
🚫 What to Avoid
Please avoid canceling sessions if and where possible. If you need to reschedule please give them a 24-hour notice.
Please avoid comments/language that could be demotivating or degrading in any way.
Please don’t forget to provide feedback, both verbal during the session itself and written through the brief feedback form you receive from us after the session.
