Offerings: Pricing & Packages

Updated over 5 months ago

There are two types of offerings on Leland:

  1. Hourly coaching: As the name sounds, coaches can offer hourly coaching, whether hour by hour or in a bundle (e.g., three hours, six hours, etc.)

  2. Packages: Packages are a fantastic way for you to bundle services for a flat fee, and our recommended way of engaging with clients. Packages ultimately explain to clients how you can work with them toward a specific outcome. You can offer standardized packages or create custom packages that are specific to your areas of knowledge. To make the most of packages, make sure that they are easy to comprehend on your profile page. Additionally, we recommend having at least three packages listed for each of your category listings.

The sections below will dive into how to set your pricing on Leland and how to create packages that will sell.

Pricing

The Pricing page outlines your price and bulk discounts, the types of 1:1 coaching offerings available to clients, and partnership opportunities to help you get more leads.

Leland’s goal is to help you maximize your earnings. On your pricing page, you can easily view your expected take-home earnings based on your price.

If you want more leads, you can set a minimum rate below your standard take-home rate to receive more standardized opportunities. You can also offer trial sessions through our partnership programs, as Leland partners with dozens of universities, non-profits and businesses.

If you’re having trouble generating leads or want to get increase the clients in your portfolio, we recommend setting your minimum rate below your standard take-home and opting into trial sessions.

Packages

Packages are a fantastic way for you to bundle services for a flat fee. They show clients how you can work with them toward a specific outcome.

Packages include hours of coaching at a discounted rate to what it would cost if purchased hourly. You can offer standardized packages or create custom packages that are specific to your areas of knowledge.

Standardized Packages

Leland has created standardized packages for each category based on the most common needs of clients in that category. We feature packages on category home pages and throughout marketing materials, so there is more visibility on standardized packages.

You choose which standardized packages to offer and display on your coach profile.

Custom Packages

You can create your own packages for specific use cases, and the ones you mark as "public" will appear on your profile. Before creating a custom package, check if there's a standardized package that covers your needs to avoid duplication.

Tips for Creating Compelling Custom Packages

  1. Get specific! When booking packages, clients want to know exactly what they’re going to get out of them. If there is a Leland-standard package that seems similar, use the standard package.

  2. Set expectations up front, including how much time a week you’ll have to work with your client, what your turnaround times look like for feedback, what your coaching style is like (e.g., do you do most of your work async?), etc.

  3. Get creative! Think about what you would have liked to have access to when you were going through X process.

Packages are an excellent way to attract customers. Clients often feel more confident purchasing them because they have a clear understanding of the expected results and what they will receive.
