Overview
Leland has invested in a dedicated sales team to help grow demand for coaching on the platform and support coaches in converting that demand into paid engagements. Sales reps are a key partner for coaches, helping bring in new opportunities, align clients with the right coaches and offerings, and ensure clients get started successfully.
Sales-assisted leads account for ~35% of total coach earnings on Leland. Our sales team speaks with thousands of prospective clients every month to understand their background, goals, timelines, and budgets, and to help them find the right level of support on the platform. Reps often help clients commit to a higher level of coaching, which enables deeper engagement, greater influence, and stronger outcomes.
When coaches and reps work closely together, clients move faster, buy with confidence, and have a smoother experience on the platform. Working with our sales team is one of the best ways to grow your coaching business on Leland, and we strongly recommend opting into receiving sales-assisted leads so we can send you more client opportunities.
What is a Sales Assisted Lead?
Sales-assisted leads are individuals who opt in to speak with our sales team to find the right coach and offering on the platform. Each week, the sales team engages with thousands of prospective clients through outbound outreach and inbound requests from people who come to Leland seeking personalized guidance. Our goal is to:
Bring coaches incremental client opportunities they would not otherwise see.
Help convert those opportunities into paid clients through a series of phone calls, email/text exchanges, and follow-ups.
Ensure both the client and coach have a positive experience working together.
Sales-Assisted Fees
When you opt into this feature, Leland's sales team will recommend your coach profiles and help clients reach out to you via the Leland platform. These clients are sourced through personalized outreach and consultations, drawn from thousands of conversations we have with prospective customers. Because Leland is more involved in acquiring and placing these clients, we attach a 10% sales fee when you work with them. You'll still set your own prices—only take-home earnings are adjusted.
This additional 10% is only added if we brought the lead to you. It allows us to invest in the sales team to bring you more leads and is not a universal increase in take rate. If leads find you on their own, our team is still happy to help close those leads for you, and we do not attach the 10% for these efforts (we just want to help you make money!).

What Do Sales Reps Do?
Sales reps support coaches and clients across the full client journey, including:
1. Outbound Outreach
Reps proactively reach out to prospective clients to generate new demand for coaching on the platform and create opportunities for coaches to work with more clients.
2. Helping Clients Get Started with the Right Coach & Offering
Sales reps work closely with clients to:
Build trust and help clients gain clarity and confidence in pursuing their goals
Help clients move from uncertainty to conviction by clarifying what’s possible with the right coaching support
Understand the client’s background, goals, timeline, and budget
Recommend the right coach and offering based on fit
Support the purchase process and help clients get started smoothly
Follow up to ensure clients are set up with the right level of support to drive strong outcomes
This work typically happens through several phone calls, along with ongoing email and text exchanges with each lead. It’s also important to note that some sales processes are quick, while others can span multiple weeks or even months depending on the client’s readiness, timeline, and decision criteria. Throughout this process, the sales team acts as a partner to both clients and coaches, staying engaged to help move conversations forward and ensure the best possible outcome.
How to Work Effectively with Sales Reps
Sales reps and coaches are on the same team. Alignment and communication are key to delivering a strong client experience and driving great outcomes.
Best practices:
Identify the assigned rep — If an order is sales-assisted, you’ll see a note in the top-right corner of your inbox with the assigned rep’s email.
Be communicative — Sales reps are highly responsive via email and the coaches’ Slack. Don’t hesitate to loop them in.
Share feedback from intro calls — Let reps know how intro calls and early sessions are going so they can better support the client and reinforce the right recommendation.
Align on recommendations — Coordinate with the rep on the package or offering being recommended so the client hears a consistent, aligned message.
Coordinate follow-up — Align on next steps and follow-up strategy to help move the client forward and get them over the line.
Keep the rep in the loop post-sale — Fill in the rep how the coaching engagement is going and if any assistance is needed.
