How to use Info Request, if you are a Mortgage Manager in the Columbus ecosystem

There are 2 ways to use Info Request - to send messages downstream (ie to your broker); or to receive messages from upstream (ie Origin)

Info Request is a great tool to use to gather data needed for a loan application to be approved. It can be used for messages between Funder and Mortgage Manager, between Mortgage Manager and Broker, and between Broker and Customer.

This article focuses on the Info Request functionality key to a Mortgage Manager, in the Columbus ecosystem. For the purposes of this article, the Mortgage Manager is Axis Lending, and there is two main sections:

Mortgage Manager backchannel to a broker via Info Request

When a broker creates an application in Axis Lending Loanapp, a 'shadow' application is also created in Axis Lending CHNL.

Here we have broker Kate Rose creating an application in Axis Loanapp for Peter Ratcliffe:

A "shadow" application is also created in Axis Lending CHNL:

When the broker has submitted their application, you will receive it in "Received Apps" in your Loanapp:

You will then start assessing the received application, and at some point you will want to send backchannel Missing Information Requests to the broker.

Sending backchannel Info Requests to the broker

When you have received the application from Kate the broker, you may want to send backchannel Info Requests down to Kate to get more information or supporting docs as you assess the application.

In order to send backchannel down to Kate the broker, login to your Axis Lending CHNL, and find the application on your dashboard. Click on the pencil on the right hand side:

This will show you the detail of who is a 'participant' on the application (ie who you can send Info Requests to). Here the participants are Kate (the broker) and Peter & Jacqueline (the applicants):

You can add other participants to the CHNL application at any time, which then makes them available as Info Request participants.

IMPORTANT

You will need to ensure the branding on this application is correct. If the broker has used Info Request while they created the application in Loanapp, they may have re-set the branding to be their own (ie not yours). Here, the branding for any Info Requests on this application is currently set as the broker's branding:

You will need to re-set the branding to be your branding - change it to Channel to be Axis Lending branding on all new Info Requests:

Extra important! Make sure you SAVE this change.

To send a backchannel info request for this application:

Click on Info Request either here:

Or click on the 3dots on the dashboard and select Info Request (this is if you have already set the branding and the participants):

You will be taken to the Info Request page. Click "new request":

You will be able to set the Title of the request, and to whom you would like to send the request (any of the participants, most likely the broker):

You can also write some commentary, set as urgent etc. When ready, click SEND:

The Info request will be sent off to Kate the Broker, and your list of Info Requests on this Ratcliffe application will have one "open" and waiting:

Kate the broker will receive the request, branded from Axis Lending.

She can click 'here' on either desktop or mobile, and will be taken to a login screen.

She can login via her socials, or set a password:

When the broker logs in, they will see your waiting info request:

The broker can click on the request to open and view, attach documents and/or add comment:

And when they press submit, the Info Request in your Axis Channel Ratcliffe application will now be flagged as "Replied":

Click on the replied item to see what has come back from the broker:

You can then download/save the document; use any information sent back in your credit assessment. Note that if a supporting doc is sent, you can send through to CHNL supporting docs.

Receiving Backchannel requests from Origin

As the Mortgage Manager receiving an Info Request (eg backchannel) from Origin, the experience is different...more like the experience your brokers have when you are communicating downstream to th

em.

Keep in mind that you are now in fact the 'external' party, and it is Origin sending a message 'downstream' - much like when you send backchannel down to your broker.

As such, your experience will be like the broker's experience:

  • you will receive Info Request invites on email

  • when you 'click here' on the invite, you will be taken to a login screen, branded with Origin branding

  • you will login, and be able to read and complete the Info Requests; and send info and/or docs back up to Origin

Note, even though its essentially the same applicants, its actually a different application to yours - in that your application in your Axis Lending channel is with you at the top and the broker below; this application is in the Origin Channel with Origin at the top and you below.

When Origin wants to send you a backchannel they will create an info request and you will receive an email, inviting you to login and process the request:

You will then click 'here' in the email body which will take you to the Origin login screen. You can either login via your socials, or set a password:

Once logged in, you can review the request from Origin, and return the required info/documents:

Open the request and complete:

Upon submit, this data will be returned to Origin for processing.

Note that Info Request can just as easily be used on mobile devices.

Note also that if you have received a question from Origin that you then need to ask of the broker or applicant, it makes most sense for you to make this request downstream to your broker/applicant in your own channel (as per the first section of this article).
