πŸ“ Note: This integration predates the rebrand of Lessonly to Seismic Learning, and the unification of Learning with Seismic Content. Accordingly, this article may contain outdated information.

About SeismicΒ

Seismic is a sales enablement platform built to:

  • Help sellers find, share, and track the marketing content they provide to customers and prospects.Β

  • Help marketers manage all marketing content in one place, as well as gain insights into the performance of the content.

The integration with Seismic Learning allows companies to automatically bring Learning content into the Seismic platform. Sales enablement leaders can share and promote lessons within Seismic, similar to other pieces of content.

With this integration, companies can house all their training and marketing enablement content in one platform. This makes it easier, and more streamlined, for sellers to locate what they're looking for.

About This Integration

The Seismic Learning <> Seismic Content integration brings marketing content and training together in a unified experience within the Seismic platform.

The integration includes:

  • Unified UI: Use all the features of Seismic Learning from within Seismic

  • Global Search: Search for both Seismic Content and Seismic Learning content simultaneously using a single search within Seismic

  • Consolidated Insights: View integrated analytics produced from the combination of Seismic Learning reporting data and Seismic LiveInsights

  • Related Training: Quickly and easily link Learning lessons and paths to a piece of Seismic content. Related Training is prominently featured to the seller when they view the Seismic content within DocCenter.

  • Training on Pages: Add Learning content to Seismic pages. This allows users the ability to learn more when they're exploring a topic on a page in Seismic.

  • Assignments on the Homepage: Add Learning assignments to the Seismic Homepage for learners to view their assignments.

πŸ“ Note: All components can be enabled or disabled individually within the setup process, as desired.

Integration Features

1. Unified UI

The unified UI allows users to find and interact with Learning content from within Seismic. After the Seismic Learning application is installed and configured, all users in the Seismic tenant are able to see a new Learning icon on the main menu in Seismic. Once a Learning session is established, users can utilize Seismic Learning features from within Seismic.

If a user finds a link to Learning content somewhere within Seismic (for example, a Seismic Page), and selects the link, the link opens in the Seismic Unified UI instead of in a new browser tab.

Learning links can appear in the following locations in Seismic:

  • In a DocCenter profile (Seismic's landing page)

  • On a Seismic Page

  • On the Instructions card next to another piece of Seismic content

  • In global search results

2. Global Search

The global search provides the ability to search for both Seismic content and Learning lessons using Seismic search.

When reps search in Seismic, and there are lessons associated with their search, the lessons appear in the search results. The lessons appear in a separate tab of search results named Learning so the reps are clear about what results are Seismic content vs. Learning training.

3. Consolidated Insights

With consolidated insights, users can view the data about how training and content usage lead to real results.

There are three default dashboards:

  • Training engagement - overview of how your users are engaging with Seismic Learning training.

  • Training impact - insights around how Seismic Learning training activity correlates to Seismic content usage.

  • Training Impact Enhanced - it builds upon the Training Impact dashboard by providing insights around how Seismic Learning training activity correlates to CRM sales success metrics.

πŸ“ Note: This dashboard is only available if the Seismic tenant is syncing CRM data to Seismic via the Seismic Business Data Enrichment app.

4. Related Training

Related training enables marketers and sales enablers in Seismic to quickly and easily link one or more pieces of Seismic Learning content to a piece of Seismic content.

Seismic Learning linked content as Related Training is prominently featured to the seller when they view the Seismic content within DocCenter.

The value of related training for enablers:

  • Streamline workflows to link Learning content to Seismic content without the need to add the Learning content to Content Manager.

  • Any updates to Learning content are immediate and automatically reflect within Seismic.

  • Permissions for Learning content are automatically respected within Seismic.

The value of related training for learners:

  • Easily discover training supporting a piece of Seismic content

  • Simply click on the Related Training to view and consume the training, all within Seismic

5. Training on Pages

Training on Pages enables marketers and sales enablers in Seismic to quickly and easily add one or more pieces of Seismic Learning content to a Seismic Page.

Learning content added to a Seismic page is prominently featured to the seller when they're reviewing the page.

The value of training pages for enablers:

  • Streamlines workflow to include Learning content to Seismic pages without the needing to add the Learning content to Content Manager.

  • Ability to select the format of Learning content on a page (carousel, highlights, list, etc.).

  • Any updates to Learning content are immediately reflected in Seismic.

  • Permissions for Learning content are respected in Seismic.

The value of training pages for learners:

  • Easily discover training supporting a topic on a Seismic page.

  • The ability to select the training to view in Seismic.

  • Individual permissions for Learning content are respected in Seismic. This prevents users from seeing training not available to them.

πŸ“ Note: Training on Pages is limited to lessons and paths only.

6. Assignments on the Homepage

Assignments on the homepage allow managers and sales enablers to quickly add learners' Learning assignments to their Seismic homepage.

The Value of Assignments on the Homepage for Enablers:

  • Streamline workflow to include Learning assignments on the Seismic Homepage, without the need to actually add the content to Content Manager.

  • Any updates to Learning content is immediately reflected in Seismic.

  • Permissions for Learning content will be automatically respected within Seismic

The Value of Assignments on the Homepage for Learners:

  • Easily discover assignments in Seismic.

  • Efficiently review and complete Learning assignments all in Seismic.

What to Do Next

  1. Navigate to the Homepage.

  2. Select the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner of the homepage.

πŸ“ Note: If the pencil icon is not present, the user does not have the permissions to modify the homepage.

  3. Select the new Learning assignment widget from the widget options. The user can drag and drop the widget in the navigation bar to wherever they would like and then select "Save."

Enable the Integration

Before you begin:

  • The customer needs a Seismic Premium account with Full Control (System Administrator) permissions.

  • The user needs to be a Learning admin.

To begin, please reach out to the Learning Support team at support@lessonly.com asking a member of the team to enable the Seismic Learning <> Seismic integration.

Step 1: Install the Learning App

In the Seismic platform, install the Seismic Learning app from the Seismic app catalog:

  1. On the main menu, select Admin > System Settings.

  2. Under Manage Apps, select My Apps.

  3. Select the Browse Apps tab.

  4. Find the Learning app and select the Learning icon.

  5. Select Install.

πŸ“ Note: Steps 2-4 helps connect the Seismic instance to the Learning instance. Although not required, Learning's recommendation is to connect them using a general Seismic admin account login such as admin@yourcompany.com or something similar. Otherwise, due to a limitation of OAuth connection, if the person setting up the integration is deactivated, the integration will have to be reconfigured.

Step 2: Configure the Learning App

In the Seismic configuration options, enter the Learning subdomain and API key.

  1. On the main menu, select Admin > System Settings.

  2. Under Manage Apps, select My Apps.

  3. Find the Learning app and select the Learning icon.

  4. Select the Configuration tab.

  5. Select Allow in the Access & Permissions window.

  6. The Learning app configuration window opens.

  7. Under Learning Account, fill in the subdomain and API Key boxes.

  8. Select Save.

πŸ“ Note: The subdomain and API key can be found in the Learning platform by navigating to the Settings tab and selecting the API and Webhooks section.

Step 3: Configure the Learning app permissions

The Learning app permissions allow the user to enable or disable each Learning integration feature.

All features are enabled by default.

To disable or enable any of these features, use the following procedure:

  1. On the main menu, select Admin > System Settings.

  2. Under Manage Apps, select My Apps.

  3. Find the Learning app and select the Learning icon.

  4. Select the App Permissions tab.

  5. Under Access & Permissions, the following features listed under Extension Point can be enabled (default) or disabled.

  6. To use the Training on Pages turn on the External Content on Pages toggle.

  • Data Sync: To use Consolidated Insights, turn on the Data Sync toggle.

  • Unified UI: To use the Learning UI feature, turn on the Main Nav toggle.

  • Search: To view Learning search results in a Seismic search (global search), turn on the Search toggle

Step 4: Enable the Learning app

After configuring the Learning app, then next is to enable the integration to begin using it.

  1. On the main menu, select Admin > System Settings.

  2. Under Manage Apps, select My Apps.

  3. Select the Browse Apps tab.

  4. Find the Learning app.

  5. Turn on the Enable this app toggle.

πŸ“ Note: During the initial synchronization, all Learning historical reporting data is imported. It might take up to 24 hours after the integration is enabled for Learning reporting data to appear in Seismic's LiveInsights.

After the initial data synchronization, Learning reporting data in Seismic is refreshed every 12 hours.

When trialing the Seismic integration with Learning, if a company does end up purchasing the Seismic integration, Learning will need to manually remove the trial integration on the backend so they can then integrate the new setup.
