About Skill Observations

Skill observations allow you to rate the skills that learners demonstrate during actual work activities. For example, a sales lead might shadow a seller while she pitches a prospect; or a support manager might observe the way agents handle incoming customer chats.

For each skill you observe, you can rate the learner's performance on a five-point scale, from unsatisfactory to excellent. You can also leave comments to explain the reason for your rating, suggest growth opportunities, or highlight other noteworthy aspects of the learner's performance.

Complete Skill Observations

To create a Skillset Observation Assessment, check out this article first.

After creating an observation the user can access the Skill Observation by selecting My Tasks > then locate the Skill Observation under the My Tasks module.

Once a skill observation has been started the user is prompted to type in a description of what they are observing.

For example, a user could input a link to a call recording to showcase the user's skills.

Not all skills may be observed in each interaction, meaning only some of the skills may need to be rated by the observer.

After choosing the skills to assess, the observer is prompted to leave ratings and any comments if applicable.

Once finished, the observer selects Submit Assessment and then chooses if they want to share the assessment with the learner.

Share Skill Observations

Once finished, the observer selects "Submit Assessment" and then chooses if they want to share the assessment with the learner by selecting "Share Assessment."

If the observer chooses not to share the assessment at the moment, they are able to go back into the team member's page and select Share Settings > then check the box to share > and copy the assessment link to share with the learner.
