How Are Skill Scores Calculated?

Scores are located in the "At a Glance" chart on the "Overview" page. The "Skill Levels" module is where the scores are aggregated together for one score.

Currently, for each module, the data is for all time.

On the "At a Glance" chart, the scores of each assessment are the averages of each user's score. The average of the user's score is then compiled into an average of all assessments of this specific completed skillset type.

Scoring Example

As an example, let's say there are two users on a team:

  • John

  • Bill

In this case for the Observation Assessment, John received scores of a 2 and a 3.

To calculate the score, take (2 + 3) / 2 = 2.5

Bill received a 4.

Then take the average of both John and Bill's values, ( 2.5 + 4) / 2 = 3.25.

The score on the chart for the Observation Assessment type would be 3.25.

How to Score for Skill Levels

On the "Skill Levels" bar graph, all types of assessments are aggregated together and then averaged out to retrieve an individual user's score.

For example:

John's score for the Negotiation Skill is ( ( ( 2 + 3 ) / 2 ) + 3 + 3 + 2 ) / 4 for a skill score of 2.625 (rounded down to 2.6).

John's two observations are averaged together first before having them be averaged with the rest of the assessments.

Then when averaged with Bill's rating of 4 on observation is 2.6 + 4 = 3.3 for the team.
