What Is Learner Feedback?
By default, each Seismic Learning lesson concludes with a feedback rating module. The module prompts users to rate their learning experience with a thumbs up or thumbs down, and, if they like, they can use the free-text field to explain the reason for their selection. The user can also skip the rating process altogether.
π‘ Tip: Do you want to require that learners leave feedback at the end of a lesson? Try building a feedback step into your lesson by adding a survey or free-response question. Learners will have to complete this question in order to finish the lesson.
Enable Learner Feedback
Before you begin: You must be an admin or have permission to edit company settings.
To enable learner feedback, select the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the interface > Settings > Training Content Settings > "Allow learners to rate lessons?"
π Note: This setting is enabled by default.
Learner Satisfaction Report
The Learner Satisfaction report, located on the Insights tab, consists of five parts:
Lesson Ratings tell you how many thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings your content has received in the last 90 days.
βLearner Satisfaction by Week is a line chart plotting lesson ratings for each week of the last 90 days.
βHighest Rated Lessons shows the top five lessons ranked by thumbs-up percentage.
βLowest Rated Lessons shows the bottom five lessons ranked by thumbs-down percentage.
βAll Lesson Ratings compiles your ratings data in a downloadable CSV file that includes standard information about your learners (name, email, role, etc.), the lessons they've completed, the rating they gave each lesson, and any comments they submitted.
π Note: Learners can rate a lesson each time they complete it. In other words, nothing prevents someone from up- or down-voting a lesson multiple times.
Sometimes you may find that no ratings have been collected, as shown below.
When this happens it's likely that Lesson Ratings have not been enabled or were disabled at some point. After ratings are enabled, and learners begin rating lessons, Learner Satisfaction data are rendered as a line chart. Also, the five highest- and lowest-rated lessons are shown in rank order, allowing you to see at a glance which lessons are delighting your learners and which need to be improved.
