What Is the Assessment Management Feature Set?

The Skills app includes four assessment features designed to help trainers manage their coaching programs effectively and efficiently. These features allow you to:

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ see at a glance all coaching activities taking place within a company,

๐Ÿงฎ aggregate assessments and their details,

๐Ÿ“… send assessment reminders,

โœจ and more!

Read on to learn about each one.

Multiple Team Filters

On the Team overview page you'll see three kinds of data gathered from all the teams in your company: assessment data, coaching plan data, and skill level scores. Though all teams are selected by default, you can individuate teams by using the multiple team filters. Select the checkboxes next to the teams you want to analyze. The page will refresh to show data from only the teams you specified.

You can also Select or Deselect All Teams to efficiently make your selections.

Assessment and Coaching Plan Widgets

Two widgets greet you on the Team page: one tallies up the assessments you've created, the other counts tasks in the coaching plans you've implemented.

Assessments Widget

The total numbers of complete, incomplete, and overdue assessment requests are displayed on this widget. You can also create and assign a new assessment task right from the widget. Click Send New Request and make your selections as instructed.

Also, those numbers on the widget? They're clickable! Selecting them will load an itemized roster on the Assessments tab, allowing you to see the specific assessments that have been completed or not.

Coaching Plans Widget

Coaching plans allow managers to create performance goals for their learners along with tasks to help them achieve those goals. Active plans are displayed in the widget alongside incomplete and overdue tasks associated with those plans.

In the widget, click Create New Plan to, well, create a new coaching plan. You can also create new plans by selecting the yellow Assess & Coach button in the upper-right corner of the Skills interface.

๐Ÿ’ก Note: Unlike the numbers in the assessments widget, coaching plan figures are not interactive.

Recent Activity Table

On loading the Recent Activity tab you'll see, in descending chronological order, the 20 learners most recently active in the Skills app. This table gives learners' names, the type of activity they last engaged, and the date on which that activity occurred. Data is gathered across all teams and all time by default, but you can populate the table with custom data by using the team and time filters at the top of the page.

When certain teams have been specified, a chip bearing each team's name will show below the filters. To remove a team from your analysis, click the X next to its name.

Assessments Table

The assessments table contains the vital details of assessments that trainers have assigned. These details include assessment type, the names of evaluators and evaluees, assessment due dates (if applicable), and the status of the assessment.

The assessments table can be accessed by clicking a value in the assessments widget...

...or by navigating to the assessments tab on the Team overview page.

This screenshot shows the location of the Assessments tab on the Team page of the Skills app.

Assessment Table Filters

All assessment data is populated by default, but you can toggle two dropdown menus to filter by status and assessment type.

Use the status dropdown to filter assessments according to one of these four options:

  • All Statuses

  • Incomplete Assessments

  • Overdue Assessments

  • Completed Assessments

Use the assessment dropdown to populate the table according to assessment type:

  • All Assessment Types

  • Skillset Review

  • Skillset Self-Reflection

  • Performance Metric

  • Skill Observation

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: The status and type filters combine to create an AND function. Applying both criteria will return a narrow set of results. Moreover, the top-level filters, team and time, work in combination with the assessment table filters.

Users can also filter the assessments table so that only their assessment requests are shown. To do so, toggle the slider labeled Only Show My Requests.

Assessment Table Actions

When you select the ellipses icon (...) of an assessment, a menu will appear from which you can either Delete the assessment or send a Reminder to its evaluator. These actions can also be performed in bulk.

Assessment Reminders

Selecting Remind from the ellipses menu will launch a confirmation dialog, allowing you to remind evaluators to complete their assessments.

Clicking Send Reminder will send the evaluator a system-generated email like the one pictured below.

Delete Assessments

To delete an assessment, select the ellipses icon in its row, then select Delete. A confirmation dialog will appear. Selecting Delete Assessment will delete all comments and assessment data, and remove the assessment from the table.

๐Ÿšจ Important Note: Delete with caution! This action cannot be undone.

Bulk Actions

Want to take action on multiple assessments at one time? Use the bulk Actions menu. This menu allows you to send reminders to users who have assessments in progress, or else haven't started them. You can also use this menu to delete many assessments at once. To take action on all assessments, click the select-all checkbox in the header row.

Once you've made your selections, complete the bulk action by selecting the confirmation button at the bottom of the table.

Browsing Recommended Content

We've made it easier than ever to browse learning content and skill-related resources. In the Recommended Content window, you can identify the instructional resources that undergird mission-critical skills, and share this content with your team members.

To browse recommended content, select the Assess & Coach button, then select Browse Skill Content from the menu. The Recommended Content window will appear.

In the window are two drop-down menus, one containing the teams in your organization, and one containing the skills on which teams are being trained.

If recommended content has been attached to a skill, the window will refresh with a link to each item. If content has not been attached, the window will show this notice: "There is no recommended content here, yet!"

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: For information on configuring recommended content, see this article.
