About This Feature
This feature allows trainers to manually complete assignments and maintain a record of such completions. Manual completions are helpful when learners are inadvertently assigned unnecessary or redundant lessons.
Before You Begin: You must be an admin or have people management permissions.
Mark Assignments Complete
There are two ways to mark a lesson as complete: from a learner's overview page or from a lesson overview page.
From the Learner Overview Page
On the People page, select the learner you want to mark complete.
On the learner's overview page, select View All alongside either incomplete or overdue assignments, whichever category includes the assignment you want to mark as complete.
Mouse over an assignment, and then select the checkmark icon from the command menu on the right side of the table.
You can perform this action on several assignments at once. Select the check box to the left of each assignment, and then select Mark Complete from the top of the table.
A confirmation dialog displays the following warning: "Marking an assignment complete will give the learner a completion status. If the assignment includes graded elements, the learner will receive a score of 100%. Are you sure you want to continue?"
Select Mark Complete to proceed.
π Note: This action cannot be undone except by reassigning content and restarting the learner's progress.

Completion Reporting and Data
When assignments are manually completed, the date and time of completion are recorded under progress overview, and learners are awarded a score of 100%.
This same timestamp appears in other parts of Seismic Learning such as the gradebook and downloadable reports.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I mark learners complete on paths?
A. No, only on individual lessons.
Q. Can I mark individual lessons complete within a path or certification?
A. Not within the path itself. As a workaround, assign the lesson directly, and then mark that assignment complete. Afterward, the lesson will show as completed within the path structure.
Q. Are manual completions distinguished from normal completions?
A. Not in the user interface. But manual completions carry a special signature, and the Support team can use this to help you identify manually completed lessons.
Q. Are manually completed lessons sent to the grading station?
A. No.
Q. I tried to mark an assignment complete but a red bar displayed the following error: "Oops, something went wrong. Please refresh and try again." What happened?
A. This message displays when manual completions fail. This seldom happens, but either of these events can cause a completion to fail:
When a learner completes a lesson at the same time he or she is being marked as complete.
When a learner or lesson is archived at the same time the learner or lesson is marked as complete.
When bulk completions fail, they fail for all of the learners or lessons you selected. Refresh the page, and then retry the completion action.
