Application Intake

Set up the digital intake form your clients complete, choosing the questions and documents you need.

Written by Kaylan Pepin

Application Intake lets you build a digital intake form that collects what you need from every client who enters your portal. You choose the questions, you choose the documents, and new clients see what you configured instead of a PDF you have to email and chase.

Click through the walkthrough above to see a client complete the intake you configure, then follow the steps below to set yours up.

Step-by-step: how to set up application intake

Step 1: Go to Settings

From your dashboard, head to Settings. This is where you will find your intake configuration tools.

Step 2: Open Request Packs

Inside Settings, open Request Packs. This is where you control what clients are asked for when they enter your portal.

Step 3: Open Client Intake

Select Client Intake. This is the Request Pack that controls the application form your clients see in their portal. Changes you publish here apply to new clients entering the portal from that point forward.

Step 4: Customise your intake questions

Check or uncheck any question to control what information your clients are asked to provide. The preview on the right updates as you make changes, so you can see what your client will see. Only include what you actually need. A shorter, focused intake form gets faster and more complete responses.

Step 5: Set up document requests

Switch to the Documents tab to choose which files clients are required to upload: bank statements, financials, ID, capitalization tables, or any other files you need. Check the ones you want and clients will be prompted to upload them when they complete their intake.

Step 6: Hit Publish

When your intake questions and document requests are set, click Publish. New clients entering your portal from this point forward will see your updated intake form.

Step 7: Invite your client

Once your intake is set up, open a business profile and click Invite to add the client to their portal. They will see your intake questions and document requests, and can submit everything in one place instead of emailing PDFs back and forth.

Why application intake changes the way you work

  • No more PDF forms. Your clients fill in their details and upload their documents in one place.

  • You control the questions. Configure it once and it applies to every new client who enters your portal.

  • Live preview. See what your client will see as you build the form, so there are no surprises after publishing.

  • Everything flows into the platform. Answers and uploaded documents go into the client's profile in your account, so there is far less to re-key by hand.

  • A stronger starting point. A more complete intake means you start the deal with more of what lenders ask for.

Tips for setting up application intake

  • Use the preview before you publish. Confirm the client experience looks the way you want it.

  • Include your key document requests. Think about the documents lenders consistently ask for and make sure they are in your intake. Getting them upfront saves chasing later.

  • Publish before inviting clients. If you invite before publishing, clients will see the default intake rather than your version.

  • Revisit your intake as your business changes. As you work with more lenders or change focus, update your Request Pack to match.
