Do I need brokering experience, and do you supply clients or do I bring my own?

What you need before you start, and where your first deals actually come from.

Written by Kaylan Pepin

Two questions, two straight answers. You do not need brokering experience to start. And no, we do not supply clients. You bring your own.

Do I need experience?

No. The platform is a good fit for brand new brokers, and you do not need technical experience either. Onboarding is one to one, and most of the setup is done in that session.

What helps most when you are starting out is the AI agent. You can ask it why a deal did not match a lender, what a lender's criteria are, or to draft a credit memo. You also get access to 50+ lenders live today, relationships that would take years to build on your own.

Be realistic about the ramp. It varies a lot. Some brokers fund early, others take longer, and it depends on the pipeline you bring and the time you can give it.

You can do this part time while you build up. Plenty of brokers run this alongside another role, and there is no full time requirement.

Do I need a licence or a company?

You do not need a formal business entity to sign up. Many brokers start as sole proprietors or independent contractors. As you grow, an entity can help with liability, tax and credibility, which is a conversation for your accountant.

Licensing depends on where you operate. Check your local rules before you start. We are a software platform and do not give legal or compliance advice.

Do you supply clients?

No. The platform is deal management and lender matching, not client acquisition. We do not generate new business for you and we do not run marketing campaigns on your behalf. You bring the client, and the platform helps you package, match, submit and close the deal faster.

We also do not compete with you for deals. We are a software platform, not a brokerage.

So where do the deals come from?

  • Your existing network. Business owners you already know, former colleagues, friends of friends. This is where most brokers start.

  • Referral partners. Mortgage brokers, accountants, bookkeepers, lawyers and financial advisers all work with small business owners who need capital. You can create referral codes for them, and the platform tracks which partner each business came from so you can see who is producing.

  • Your own marketing. Run this through a separate CRM. GoHighLevel is a common choice for brokers. Check their current pricing directly.

  • Your website. We can give you an Apply Now button or link to embed that sends people straight into your application, carrying your branding.

How you compensate a referral partner is up to you. Some brokers pay a flat fee or a share of the commission on funded deals, others keep it as a mutual exchange. The platform does not manage that.
