A lender asked for my client's SSN or SIN upfront and wants to run credit. Is that normal?

It can be, but requirements vary by lender. Some lenders ask for an SSN or SIN early in the process, and whether they run a soft or hard credit pull, and when, is up to each lender. The platform itself does not pull credit.

Before you share it, get your client's consent, and ask the lender rep in the deal messages why they need it and whether a hard pull is involved so you can tell your client accurately. If a request feels out of step with the lender profile, or the lender will not explain it, email contact@levr.ai with the lender and the deal.
