Six Steps to Success with Lexful

This guide walks you through the initial setup process if you've just signed in to a new account for the first time.

Written by Jeremiah Hendrickson

Part 1: Account Creation (Handled by Lexful)

You don't need to do anything here. The Lexful team will set up your account and create your first admin user. Once it's ready, you'll receive a confirmation email with instructions to log in for the first time.

Part 2: Sign In for the First Time

Once you receive the confirmation email, you can sign in using any of these methods:

  • Google account (Sign in with Google)

  • Microsoft account (Sign in with Microsoft)

  • Email link (we'll send you a secure login link)

Choose whichever works best for your team. You can update your login options at any time in Account Settings.

Part 3: Import Your Existing Documentation

Part 4: Apply Permissions

Permission settings are not made available in your migration sources, so if your account import contains information you need to restrict, use the articles below to apply a permission framework.

Recommendation: use this opportunity to take a pragmatic look at how complex your permissions have become, and simplify with a few straightforward groups.

Part 5: Integrate Software Tools

Part 6: Invite Your Team

With your data importing, it's time to give your team access.

  1. Go to the "Platform" section and click on Users in the main navigation menu

  2. Click the "+ Create User"

  3. Enter the user's details:

    • Email address

    • Full name

    • Role (Admin, User, etc.)

    • Organizations they should have access to

  4. Send the invitation - share your Lexful URL and the team member's email with them. They'll log in using Google, Microsoft, or email link, just like you did.

💡 Tip: If a user needs access to all your client organizations, check the "Grant access to all" checkbox when setting up their profile - no need to assign organizations one by one.
