Uploading your manuscript to Libraro is a simple process that follows four main stages: Details, Upload, Genre, and Review. Each step within helping you build a complete manuscript page, making it easier for readers to discover your work and start enjoying your writing.
Stage 1: Details
Step 1a: Title
Enter your title, make it clear and engaging.
Please note: The character limit for the title is up to 100 characters
Step 1b: The Blurb
Add a short description to hook readers.
Please note: The character limit for the Blurb is upto 500 Characters
Step 1c: Cover Image
Upload your own Cover image or use a template to create a cover.
Please note: Your Cover Image should be in the format of a .jpg or .png at a max file size of upto 5 MB, uploaded as 1 file, with an image size of 360px by 480px at a ratio 3:4. You MUST also own the rights to the image that you are using as your book cover.
Step 1d: Manuscript Publication Status
Please select the publication status that is most applicable to your manuscript
Please note: You can choose whether you want users to register ‘Early Access’ and be informed when your manuscript becomes available for purchase if you choose any of these status options:
Not published (neither self-published nor traditionally published)
In progress
Other
However if your work is already published you have the ability to add a link to where your work can be found, this option is available if you select the status options:
Self-published
Traditionally published
Stage 2: Upload
Step 2a: Story About Your Story
Upload your Story about your Story to share your inspiration with readers on our platform.
Please note: The file for the Story about your Story needs to be in a .pdf file format at a max file size of 5 MB, uploaded as 1 file, and no longer than 2 pages / 1000 words)
IMPORTANT:
In order to avoid formatting challenges, submit a plain, text-only PDF first. Do not submit a PDF that you have previously formatted with custom styles, bold text, chapter divisions, page numbers, headers, footers, annotations, images, or tables.
Step 2b: Sample Chapters
Upload your Sample Chapters these are what will be presented on our platform for readers to enjoy and get a taste of your work. You must accept the T&Cs to continue.
Please note: Your Sample Chapters need to be in a .pdf file format at a max file size of 30 MB, uploaded as 1 file. In order to proceed further with the upload process you will need to accept our Terms & Conditions.
IMPORTANT:
Submit a plain, text-only PDF first. Do not submit a PDF that you have previously formatted with custom styles, bold text, chapter divisions, page numbers, headers, footers, annotations, images, or tables.
After uploading, use the editor on the right to adjust formatting. For example, click the +button and select “Heading” to mark the start of a new chapter.
Step 2c: Full Manuscript
When you upload your full manuscript to Libraro, it remains completely private and unseen by others, but doing so enables us to apply our blockchain technology to safeguard your IP and protect your work.
During Competitions, Versioning will be locked, so upload the draft you want to be considered.
Please note: Your Sample Chapters need to be in a .pdf file format at a max file size of 30 MB, uploaded as 1 file.
IMPORTANT:
Please upload your manuscript as a text-only PDF. Content such as images, tables, pagination, annotations, or special objects (e.g., SVGs) will not be converted from PDF and may affect how your manuscript is displayed.
Stage 3: Genres
Your Book's Genres
Choose 1 Category and up to 4 additional genres that best fit your work. Accurate genre selection helps your manuscript reach the right readers and boosts discoverability.
Please note: The genres presented to you are Category specific and as such will change depending on which category you choose.
For example, you cant select "Non-Fiction" as a category and be able to choose "Literary Fiction" as a genre.
Stage 4: Review
Step 4a: Review
Carefully check that your uploaded text files like your Story about your Story/ Sample Chapters are correct and make sure to check that your Title, blurb, and cover are correct too. This is also where you’ll review the T&Cs, so take a moment to make sure everything is in order before publishing.
Step 4b: Publish
Click Publish to make your manuscript live on Libraro. At this stage, you may be asked to select a membership plan. Once published, your work becomes visible to the Libraro community, giving readers and publishers a chance to discover it.
Please note: Your first publication to Libraro will always be free, however subsequent uploads will be charged.
Step 4c: Confirmation
After publishing, you’ll see a congratulations message confirming your submission and letting you know that your work is currently under review. From here, you can return to your dashboard or view your work directly on the platform to see how it appears to others.
