Libraro has launched The Libraro Prize 2026, a new competition in partnership with Hachette UK, designed to discover the next bestselling fiction or crossover YA book, written in the English language.
The winning entry will secure a £50,000 package from Libraro and a book deal with Hachette UK.
The Libraro Prize reimagines how authors are discovered, by giving readers an active role in championing emerging talent.
The value of the role that readers play is recognised with two x Reader Prizes worth £10,000 each, where readers are incentivised to refer writers and engage with entries.
Submissions must comprise a fiction novel intended for adults, including crossover Young Adult. Submissions may be of any theme, subject, or genre within adult fiction, including crossover young adult fiction.

Prize Details For Writers: The Libraro Prize 2026
Are you a writer who is ready to become a published author? Win a £50,000 package from Libraro and a book deal with a major international publisher - Hachette UK. Enter before the 16th of February for a chance to win.
Submission Criteria:
The Libraro Prize is open to works that are written by a single human author worldwide, aged 18 or over at the time of entry. Submissions must be written and submitted in the English language. Submissions must be a full-length original work, wholly owned by the author or entrant (as applicable), and not AI-generated.
Each Submission must include the following:
Title, Author Name and Contact Details (when signing-up)
The Story About Your Story/Cover-letter (max 2 pages/1000 words)
The Blurb (no more than 500 characters)
Cover Image (optional but recommended)
Sample Chapters (at least 3 chapters/no more than 10,000 words)
A Full Manuscript or Full First Draft (40,000 words and above, a fiction novel intended for adults, including crossover Young Adult)
