Apply for less popular shifts.
Fewer applicants means less competition, so look out for shifts that are less attractive to workers. This generally includes:
Shifts out of town (not all workers are willing to travel for shifts. If you can offer other workers a ride, even better)
Shifts at unsociable hours (very early morning/late night)
Weekend shifts
Shifts with specific requirements (e.g. high skill level required/ specific uniform requirements etc.)
Keep an eye out for last-minute shifts.
These crop up when hirers are let down last minute. They post a shift with only a few hours to go until the shift starts and no idea if they'll get any applicants. If you can apply for one of these, you'll be in with a good chance of getting hired. Look out for these especially at weekends and bank holidays - for some reason we tend to see more of them at these times... π€
β
Write a cover note.
When you tap 'apply' on a shift, you'll be prompted to write a cover note. This is a great opportunity to appeal directly to the hirer - let them know something about your application. Think you'd be a good fit for the shift? Then tell them why in your cover note!

Improve your profile.
Make sure you've given plenty of detail about your pre-limber experiences.
Use the introduction section on your profile to tell hirers something about yourself. Why are you on limber? What skills will you bring to their shift?
