Overview

In Limble, you can organize your assets in a way that is convenient and efficient to access what you need, when you need it.

This article will go over different ways to efficiently organize your assets.

Table of Contents

Asset Hierarchy

An asset hierarchy establishes parent-child relationships between assets that help keep you organized, and is also beneficial for reporting and task management.

From the Manage Assets page, make sure your assets are in hierarchy view by clicking "Hierarchy" on the right side of the screen.

Then, you can grab the four-way arrow icon next to an asset and drag it onto another asset.

(Note: By default, only Super Users and Managers are able to organize assets in a hierarchy.)

Asset Order

In Limble, you can organize your assets alphabetically or in a custom order that you set.

These preferences will be saved and will not change.

To do this, use the four-way arrow icon to drag an asset where you want it to be ordered within a hierarchy.

In this example, "Grinder" was moved below "Shop Equipment."

To switch between different types of organization, click on the number list icon.
If the triangle is facing downward, then you are viewing your assets in custom order.

(Note: this setting is specific to each user. Your team members will need to follow the same process in order to see the assets in custom order.)

To keep your custom order when creating work orders, you will need to go the Settings page.

Under User Interface Settings, change the "Picking Assets" option to "Manual Custom Order."

(Note: this is a global setting and will apply to everyone in your organization. Only Super Users can configure this setting.)

Organizing Information Field Columns

Some of your fields are displayed in different columns on the Manage Assets page. You can configure your view to show up to 10 of your fields at a time.

To organize the asset field columns, click on the edit visible columns icon. This will pull up a list of all available information fields.

Information fields that are displayed are marked with a green checkmark.

The order you click each column determines the order the columns are presented. For example, if you click "Category", then "HVAC SYSTEM", the column order will be displayed with "Category", then "HVAC SYSTEM" in that order from left to right.
