Overview

It's helpful to associate parts with assets so your technicians know what parts may be needed to complete work on an asset. You can do this in a number of ways:

  1. Associate a part with a task, such as a PM, so when a technician opens a task, they know exactly which parts may be needed to complete the work

  2. Associate assets and parts within the asset card

  3. Associate assets and parts within the part card

  4. Use bulk actions to associate many assets and parts

This article will teach you how to associate parts and assets through these 4 methods.

Asset Association Through Tasks

As you are constructing your tasks, you will notice there is a parts segment at the top of the instruction list.

By clicking the "Add Part" button, you can add the parts necessary to complete the task.

Asset Association Through the Asset Card

When you associate a part to a PM with an asset attached, the part will automatically be associated with the asset.

The list of parts associated with an asset can be viewed from the "Parts" tab of the asset card.

Additionally, by selecting the "Associate Parts" button, you can associate parts with this asset through the asset card.

Asset Association Through the Part Card

Another option for associating parts is through the Manage Parts page.

Under the Asset header, click on the boxes icon to pull up a list of all the assets associated with that part.

In the new window, click on the "Associate Assets" button to pull up all assets in your Limble account.

In the new window, select which asset(s) you want to associate with the part, then click "Select."

Asset Association in Bulk

Bulk asset association is useful if you have multiple parts that you need to associate with multiple assets.

To do this, click the "Bulk Actions" button in the top right corner. Then, select "Set Asset Association" from the dropdown.

This will pull up a window of your parts. Click the parts that you want, and then click "Select."

Next, a list of assets for all your locations will appear. Click the assets you want to associate. When you are finished, click "Select."
