Custom fields are defined at the space level and available for all Assets in your Library. Once created, you and your team can populate field values on individual Assets.

Only Admins can create, edit, or delete custom fields definitions. Anyone can set field values on assets they have edit access to.

Creating a custom field

  1. Go to the Library

  2. Select Custom Fields in the library navigation.

  3. Click Add Field

  4. Enter a name for the field (e.g., "Status," "Campaign," "Expiration Date")

  5. Select the field type (Text, Number, Date, Single-select, or Multi-select)

  6. For select fields, add the options users can choose from

  7. Click Save

Custom field creation modal

The field is now available on all Assets in your Library.

Adding options to select fields

For Single-select and Multi-select fields, you need to define the available options:

  1. While creating or editing the field, find the Options section

  2. Click Add Option

  3. Enter the option value (e.g., "Draft")

  4. Repeat for each option you need

  5. Drag options to reorder them as needed

Editing a custom field

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Fields

  2. Find the field you want to edit

  3. Click the menu icon and select Edit

  4. Make your changes

  5. Click Save

Edit custom field modal

Note that you cannot change the type of an existing field.

Reordering custom fields

The order of custom fields affects how they appear in the inspector panel and filters:

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Fields

  2. Drag fields to reorder them

  3. The new order saves automatically

Deleting a custom field

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Fields

  2. Find the field you want to delete

  3. Click the menu icon and select Delete

  4. Confirm the deletion

Deleting a field removes all its values from every Asset. This action cannot be undone.

Also keep in mind any views that filter by a custom field. Deleting a field will remove that filter from any saved views. This could cause more assets to appear in the view than intended.

Setting field values on Assets

Once fields are created, you can set values on Assets:

  1. Select an Asset in the Library

  2. In the inspector panel, find the custom fields section

  3. Enter or select values for each field

  4. Changes save automatically

You can also set field values on multiple Assets at once using multi-selection.
