There are several ways to add Assets to your Kit: pull them from your Library, upload files directly, or import from services like Google Drive and Figma.
Only Kit Editors can add Assets to Kits.
Adding Assets from your Library
Your Library is the source of truth for all your Assets. To add existing Assets to a Kit:
Open your Kit and navigate to the Page where you want to add content
Drag an Asset content block from the Insert Panel
Select From Library
Search or filter to find the Assets you need
Select one or more Assets
Click Add to insert them
Tip: Select multiple Assets at once by holding Shift or Command/Ctrl while clicking.
Uploading files directly
You can upload new files directly into a Kit without going to the Library first:
Drag an Asset content block from the Insert Panel
Select File
Choose files from your computer
The Assets appear in your Kit and are automatically added to your Library
You can also create other Asset types directly:
Color - Define a color with hex, RGB, or other values
Font - Add a typeface or font file
Code - Create a code snippet
Importing from external services
Import Assets directly from cloud services:
Drag an Asset content block from the Insert Panel
Select your service:
Google Drive - Import files from your Google account
Dropbox - Import files from Dropbox
Figma - Import designs from Figma (these can stay synced)
Authenticate if prompted
Browse and select the files to import
Figma tip: Assets imported from Figma can be kept in sync. When you update the design in Figma, you can pull those changes into Lingo. See Keeping Figma Assets in Sync.
Where Assets are stored
When you create (or import) an asset directly in a kit, it is always added to your Library. This means:
Assets are available to reuse in other Kits
The Library remains your single source of truth
Removing an Asset from a Kit doesn't delete it from your Library
Positioning and presenting Assets
After adding Assets, you can organize and adjust the presentation of them within your Page:
Drag and drop - Reorder Assets by dragging them
Under a Heading - Group related Assets together
With context - Place Notes before or after to explain usage
Display options - Use the Action Menu to adjust size, alignment, captions, and more (see Display Options)
