Managing Kit Versions

Once you've released versions of a Kit, you can view the version history, switch between versions, and manage which version is recommended for your team.

Admins and Content Managers can manage Kit versions. Anyone with access to the Kit can switch between released versions (or the draft if it is recommended).

Viewing version history

The version history page shows all released versions of a Kit along with their release notes, release dates, and who created each version.

To access version history:

  1. Open the Kit

  2. Click the version dropdown in the Navigator

  3. Select View history

From the version history page, you can:

  • See all versions in chronological order

  • Read release notes for each version

  • Identify which version is currently recommended

  • Perform management actions on versions

Switching between versions

Anyone with access to a Kit can switch between available versions:

  1. Click the version dropdown in the Navigator

  2. Select the version you want to view

When you switch versions, your preference is saved—you'll continue to see that version until you switch again or an editor recommends a different version.

Changing the recommended version

The recommended version is the one you want teammates to use. Users viewing other versions will see a notification suggesting they switch to the recommended version.

To change the recommended version:

  1. Go to the version history page

  2. Find the version you want to recommend

  3. Click Make recommended

  4. Confirm your choice

The previous recommended version remains accessible; it just loses the "recommended" label and people will be directed to the new selection.

Editing version information

You can update the name and release notes of any released version:

  1. Go to the version history page

  2. Find the version you want to edit

  3. Click Edit info

  4. Update the version name or release notes

  5. Save your changes

This is useful if you need to add information you forgot to include in the original release notes, or to fix a typo in the version name.

Deleting a version

If a version is no longer needed, you can delete it. This removes it from the version history and makes it inaccessible to teammates.

To delete a version:

  1. Go to the version history page

  2. Find the version you want to delete

  3. Click Delete version

  4. Confirm the deletion

You cannot delete the currently recommended version. To delete it, first make a different version recommended.

Important: Deleting a version cannot be undone. Teammates who were using that version will need to switch to another version.

Version notifications

When a newer recommended version is available, teammates using older versions see a banner notification. This helps ensure everyone knows when updates are available without forcing an immediate switch.

The notification appears at the top of the Kit and includes a link to switch to the recommended version.
