When you use direct links to embed Assets on websites or in applications, Lingo tracks the bandwidth used. Understanding this usage helps you stay within your plan limits.

What are direct links?

Direct links let you embed Assets directly in websites, emails, or applications. Each time someone views or downloads an Asset through a direct link, it counts toward your usage.

Viewing direct link usage

  1. Go to the Insights dashboard or billing settings

  2. Look for the Direct Links or CDN Usage section

  3. View your current usage and limit

Understanding the metrics

Total requests - Number of times direct links have been accessed

Bandwidth used - Amount of data transferred

Managing direct link usage

If you're approaching your limit:

Optimize Assets - Use appropriately sized images for web use

Review high-traffic links - Identify which Assets get the most requests

Consider caching - If using direct links in applications, implement caching

Upgrade if needed - Increase your direct link quota

What happens if you exceed your limit

When you exceed your direct link quota, the links may stop working until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade. Plan ahead to avoid disruption.
