After you've set up your Brand Portal, you probably want to share it with others. To make your portal URL more recognizable and memorable, you can work with our enterprise support team to set up a fully custom domain name.

Fully custom domains are only available to customers in our Enterprise tier.

Setup process

What you'll need

  • Access to your domain's DNS settings

  • A subdomain you want to use (e.g., brand, assets, media)

  • Admin access to your Lingo Space

Step 1: Decide on the domain you want to use

Typically this is something like brand.your-company.com, but you could also use something like www.your-company-branding.com.

Step 2: Create A records with your domain name provider

The specific DNS records you'll need to create depend on whether you're using a subdomain or a root-level domain.

For a subdomain (e.g., brand.your-company.com)

You'll need two new A records. This example is specifically for "brand", but you can use any subdomain you wish:

Host name

Record type

IP address

brand

A

35.173.59.36

lingo-api

A

35.173.59.36

For a root-level domain (e.g., www.your-company.com)

You'll need to create three new A records:

Host name

Record type

IP address

@

A

35.173.59.36

www

A

35.173.59.36

lingo-api

A

35.173.59.36

If you need help with this setup, please contact us and we'll assist you.

Step 3: Let us know

Reach out to our support team letting us know about your desired custom domain. We'll verify that the DNS records have been set up correctly, and take care of the rest of the setup process for you. We'll reach back out to you once your custom domain is fully set up.

Important notes about custom domains

Redirects from old subdomains If you are currently using a custom subdomain (e.g., your-company.lingoapp.com), we'll handle the redirection so that all of your old links seamlessly redirect to the new custom domain.

Why the lingo-api record is required We require the lingo-api record so that we can serve all Lingo services from your domain. This is important for security purposes. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to us.
