When someone shares a link to your Lingo content, messaging apps and social platforms often display a preview. You can control how much information appears in these previews—from generic Lingo branding to detailed Asset-level information.

This setting is primary designed for teams that need the highest level of privacy for their digital assets. For the best experience we recommend using the Detailed setting.

Understanding privacy levels

Lingo offers three levels of data exposure for link previews:

No previews

Links show a generic Lingo preview with no information about your Space, Kits, or Assets. This is the most private option—perfect if you want to keep all details hidden until someone actually opens the link.

Space level

Link previews show your Space name and branding, but nothing more specific. This lets people know they're accessing your organization's content without revealing details about individual Kits or Assets.

Detailed

Previews show the most relevant information for whatever is being linked—whether that's a Portal, Kit, or specific Asset. This gives recipients the best context about what they're about to view.

How to set your privacy level

  1. Click the gear icon in the left rail to open Space settings

  2. Select Advanced tab

  3. Find the Data privacy section

  4. Choose your preferred level: No previews, Space, or Detailed

Only Owners and Admins can adjust the data privacy level. This is a Space-wide setting that applies to all content.

What does this affect?

The data privacy setting only affects private kits and portals. Public kits and portals will always use detailed previews because they are already publicly available.
