Lingo makes it easy to download assets in the format and size you need. You can download individual assets with conversion options, or grab multiple assets at once as a ZIP file.

Where to download from

You can download assets from several locations in Lingo:

Canvas view

Hover over any asset and click the download icon that appears. This opens the download menu with all available format options.

Bottom bar

Select one or more assets, then click the Download button in the bottom bar. If you've selected a single asset, you'll see format options. Multiple assets will download as a ZIP file.

Inspector panel

With an asset selected, click the Download button in the inspector panel to see all available export options.

Single asset downloads

When downloading a single asset, you'll see the available export options:

Preset exports

Many assets include preset export options configured by your team, such as:

  • PNG @ 2x (for high-resolution displays)

  • SVG @ 1x (for scalable vector graphics)

  • JPG @ 72 DPI

These presets make it quick to download assets in your team's standard formats.

Custom exports

For more control, use the custom export option to:

  • Choose from available file formats (PNG, SVG, JPG, PDF, etc.)

  • Specify custom sizes (e.g., "300w" for 300px wide, "2x" for double size)

  • Set specific dimensions for your needs

The available formats depend on the original asset type. Learn more about converting and resizing assets.

Copy to clipboard

Copying images

For PNG and SVG files, you can copy the asset directly to your clipboard instead of downloading:

  1. Open the download menu for an asset

  2. Click the Copy button next to any PNG or SVG export option

  3. Paste the image directly into your design tool, document, or email

This is especially useful when you need to quickly grab an asset without saving a file to your computer.

Copying colors

For color assets, you can copy color values in various formats:

  1. Select a color asset

  2. In the inspector panel, choose your preferred format: HEX, RGB, HSB, PMS, or CMYK

  3. Click the format button to copy the color value to your clipboard

  4. Paste the value into your design tool or code

Each format is useful for different workflows - HEX for web development, RGB for digital design, CMYK for print, and PMS for brand color matching.

Downloading multiple assets

When you need several assets at once:

  1. Select multiple assets using Shift-click or Cmd/Ctrl-click

  2. Click the Download button in the bottom bar

  3. Lingo packages your selection into a ZIP file

  4. All assets download in their original format and size

Note that conversions and resizing are not available when downloading multiple assets. For format or size changes, download assets individually.

What can be downloaded

Most asset types can be downloaded, including images, vectors, videos, and documents. Some item types cannot be downloaded:

  • Colors (use the copy button to copy color values instead)

  • URL assets (these are external links)

Download permissions

Download availability depends on your space permissions. Some spaces may require identity verification or approval before downloads are enabled. If downloads are disabled, contact your space admin.
