Video content is one of the most popular and best ways to engage with your audience on a social platform. Twitch is one of the leading platforms for video content and Linktree users can embed a Twitch video, live stream, or chat directly onto their Linktree, with the Twitch Link type.

When the visitor clicks on your Twitch Link (which will look like any other link on your Linktree), your video, live stream, or chat will open out from the link and play natively, without your visitor navigating away from your Linktree profile.

If they like what they see, they can click on the video to go straight to your Twitch channel.

Terminology

Twitch Channel

Your Twitch Channel is your 'profile' where your live stream and chat, as well as all of your videos, can be found. This has its own separate link.

Twitch video

A Twitch video is a specific video that lives on your channel and has its own link, separate from your Channel link.

How to use Twitch links

  1. Log in to your Linktree Admin.

  2. Click 'Add New Link' and give the link a title

  3. Paste a Twitch video URL in the URL field

  4. A prompt will appear with the following options:

    1. Link off to Twitch website

    2. Display video on my Linktree

  5. Once you choose your preferred option and have given the link a title, it will appear on your Linktree as an active link and the video will display when clicked.

To display a Twitch channel on your Linktree, follow these instructions:

  1. Click 'Add New Link' and paste a Twitch channel URL in the URL field

  2. A prompt will appear with the following options:

    1. Link off to Twitch website

    2. Display my Twitch channel

    3. Display my Twitch chat

    4. Display both my Twitch channel and chat

  3. Once you choose your preferred option and have given the link a title, it will appear on your Linktree as an active link and the video will display when clicked.

What do visitors see when I'm not streaming?

Your channel link will display whether you are live streaming or not. If you are not streaming, your visitor will have the option to turn on notifications for your channel.

What if my Linktree visitor is not a Twitch user or is not logged into Twitch?

If the visitor on your Linktree clicks to interact with your live Twitch chat, they will need to be logged in to join the conversation. A Twitch login screen will open up. If they need to sign up to Twitch, they can do this from here too.
