NFT Lock on links
Updated over a week ago

Building a community around the ownership of your art is critical to the success of your NFT project, so we just made it easier! The NFT Lock allows you to lock any link so you can provide exclusive access to content to NFT holders.

💡 Tip: When creating your link, it's helpful to specify the name of the collection that visitors need to own to unlock the link.

Currently, the NFT Lock feature is available for creators that have an Opensea account and have minted their NFTs on the Ethereum network, but more marketplaces and networks (including the Polygon network) may be added in the future.

Steps:

  1. In your Linktree Admin, create the link that you would like to lock with your NFT.

  2. Under the link URL, select the lock icon.

  3. From the lock options, check off the NFT Contract Address option.

  4. Enter the contract address to activate the lock.

🔔 Note: You can find your asset’s contract address on relevant NFT platforms, or on your wallet’s Etherscan page under ERC-721 tokens.

  5. Provide a short description of the locked link.

That's it! Your link is now locked.

🔔 Note: This feature hasn’t reached the Linktree app just yet, but you can still add an NFT Lock on links in your web browser by following the steps above.

What your visitors will see

When a visitor lands on your Linktree, they'll see a lock on your link. The visitor will need to connect their Metamask wallet to verify that they own an NFT from the corresponding collection.

Once they've connected their wallet and followed the prompts, the link will be unlocked and they'll be able to view your exclusive link.
