If you’ve added a link but it’s not appearing on your Linktree, don’t worry—there are a few common reasons this might happen. This guide will help you troubleshoot browser or app issues, fix link errors, and resolve messages like “Enter a valid URL” or “Unsafe URL.”
Troubleshooting: Browser or app issues
Sometimes, your links might not load due to a technical issue in your browser or the Linktree app. You might see messages like “Could not get links” or experience a blank white screen.
Try these steps to fix it:
Clear your browser cache and cookies, then log in again.
Disable any VPNs or ad blockers, and refresh the page.
Close any duplicate tabs where you're logged into Linktree and refresh your main tab.
Try a different browser, or switch to the Linktree app.
Log out and log back in to your account.
Uninstall and reinstall the Linktree app to refresh it.
Check the Linktree Status Page to see if there’s a known outage.
“Enter a valid URL” message
If you see this message:
Double-check for any spaces before or after the URL.
Ensure the URL starts with
http://
orhttps://
and there are no typos or extra characters.
“Unsafe URL” message
This appears when the content of your link may not meet Linktree’s Community Standards.
Double-check that your link doesn’t lead to inappropriate, misleading, or harmful content.
If you think the message is an error, submit an appeal and choose “Unsafe URL” from the dropdown menu.
Can’t click the Add button or toggle is gray
If you can’t add a new link or the toggle next to it is gray:
Check that your URL is complete and doesn't contain unnecessary spaces.
Add a title to your link. Without a title and valid URL, the link stays inactive and won’t appear on your Linktree.
Double-check the spelling and format of your URL.
Google security error
If you're seeing a Google-related security warning when someone clicks your link:
This might be because your URL uses
https://
when the site only supportshttp://
.To fix this:
Open the site in a new tab.
Copy the full link from your browser's address bar.
Paste that directly into the URL field on your Linktree.
📝 Note: Not all websites support secure (https
) links. If the site doesn’t have a security certificate, Google may flag it.
