To Dos & Notes: Any file attached to a To Do task or Note is for firm viewing only. Clients cannot see these files, even if you list their Contact or Account. We give you the option of tying a Contact or Account so you can easily see what client this internal task is related to.
Firm Only (internal): Any files marked firm only (indicated by a lock icon next to the file name) can only be seen by firm employees and admins. The file can be associated with Contacts and Accounts, but clients cannot see these files. You can give clients access later by sharing the file to them.
Sharing files: Files can be shared through Liscio Vault and the Share File feature on the Files page. Sharing Firm Only files removes their Firm Only (internal) status.
Recipient: Clients can see anything that they were listed as a recipient on when sending, unless it is a Firm Only file showing a lock icon.
Account Owners: Contacts marked as Account Owner can view any non-internal file associated with the Account.
Message Threads: When a recipient is added to a message thread that has files attached, the recipient will be able to view those files. The files will also be automatically stored in their Files page. If an Account Owner isn't on the message thread, but the message is tied to their Account, they'll be able to see any file from that message thread even if they aren't a recipient. That said, they can only see the actual messages if they are a recipient on that thread.
