Overview

Our system supports only long-form tax returns to ensure compatibility across all jurisdictions. Short-form returns (e.g., IRS 1040EZ and 1040A) are not supported due to their limited use and equivalent tax outcomes.

Why Short Forms Are Excluded

Short forms offer fewer pages but the same tax result as long forms. Since most tax professionals default to long forms for thoroughness, we focus on long-form support to streamline our platform and enhance compatibility.

Workaround: Forcing Long Forms

For compatibility, configure your tax software to default to long forms. Most software platforms offer a setting to make the long form the standard, either globally or per return. For instance, select MO-1040 long form in Missouri to ensure compatibility.

Steps:

  1. Reprint the long form PDF.

  2. Re-upload it to our system.

  3. Optionally, archive the short-form PDF.

Exceptions

If using a short form provides a specific tax benefit in any jurisdiction, firms should submit relevant documentation to support@liscio.me for consideration. However, such cases are uncommon, and long forms are generally sufficient.

NOTE: To avoid issues, we recommend that firms configure their software to default to long-form returns for all clients. This ensures smooth delivery through our system.
