List Activity Dashboard

Learn how to use the List Activity Dashboard to see how your broadcast emails are performing for any given list.

Keeping tabs on the engagement levels of your subscribers has several benefits. It helps your deliverability and reputation as you can re-engage inactive subscribers. It helps you prolong the lifecycle of your customers as you can target your most engaged subscribers with relevant messages and it allows you identify message and design aspects that perform best so you can maximize conversions and revenue. The List Activity Dashboard provides the information you need to do these things and more. 

To access the List Navigation Dashboard, in the navigation go to Dashboards > Dashboards List Activity Dashboard.

💡 Click the Dashboard settings icon to customize which widgets, or graphs that appear on the dashboard.


Filtering Options

When navigating the List Activity Dashboard, you can update the scope of data by filtering by date. Use the pre-built date options or the calendar icons to select the target dates. Click Update after you select your settings to update the dashboard.

📌 Use the date range to see the impact of specific changes made to your marketing program on engagement, such as a new program launch. Note, the date range is limited to the last 15 months.

List Activity Overview

The list activity overview section displays high-level stats for the selected list for the selected time period including:

  • Messages Sent: The number of messages sent within the selected date range.

  • Messages Delivered: The number of messages sent that did not bounce within the selected date range.

  • Messages Opened: The number of opens that occurred within the selected date range.

  • Messages Read: The number of messages that are opened (for five seconds or longer) within the selected date range.

  • Links Clicked: The number of unique recipients that clicked within the date range.


Recent Messages

The recent messages section contains convenient thumbnail views of the most recent messages sent from the selected list as well as message activity KPIs, including:

  • Revenue: the amount of money generated by contacts who converted after clicking through a message. Only available if conversion tracking is enabled.

  • Delivered: The number of messages that reached a contact's inbox.

  • Opens: The number of messages that were opened.

  • Reads: The number of messages that were engaged with for at least 5 seconds.

  • Clicks: The total number of clicks that occurred on a specific message.

  • Unsubscribes: The number of contacts who unsubscribed by clicking an unsubscribe link or unsubscribing via an opt-down.

  • Bounces: The number of messages that bounced and were not delivered to an inbox.

From this section, you can also click through on the icons to view message-level reports, including geo-tracking (globe icon), visual tracking (magnifying glass icon), link editor (link icon), message dashboard (graph icon), and a full message preview (webpage icon). Clicking on the message preview will also take you to the individual message dashboard.

⚠️ The Recent Messages widget displays metrics for broadcast email messages ONLY, so if viewing this dashboard from any list that only sends triggered messages, this widget will be empty.


List Activity

The list activity section provides a quick view of the engagement levels of your subscribers over the selected date range. From this section, you can see which messages had the most activity in the form of opens, reads, and clicks. You can turn off these metrics by clicking the name of the metric in the legend.


Contact Open Activity

The contact open activity pie chart shows the number of active subscribers that have opened a message from the selected list in the past 30 days, 31–60 days, 61–90 days, 91–180 days, 181–360 days, and those that haven’t opened a message in over a year. This data will you help you segment your customers, targeting your most recent ones, recapturing the inactive ones, and re-engaging the ones who have lapsed.


Sales Conversions

The sales conversions widget allows you to see the revenue generated by contacts clicking through your email campaigns, as long as conversion tracking is enabled for the selected list.

The sales conversions chart shows you the total revenue generated by all messages sent from the selected list during the specified time frame. It also displays the number of subscriber visits to your site through your email campaigns, the total number of conversions, the conversion percentage, and the average order value.


Contact Click Activity

The contact click activity pie chart provides a snapshot of the number of subscribers who have clicked a link in an email campaign sent to the selected list within the specified date range. The contact click activity pie chart segments contacts into groups who have clicked in the last 30 days, 31–60 days, 61–90 days, 91–180 days, 181–360 days, and inactive contacts over the last year.

💡 This chart calculates an inactive contact as one who has not opened an email within the last (rolling) year or if the contact does NOT have an email open date in their profile.


Activity by Country and Activity by State

List Activity by Country and Activity by State contain pie charts showcases subscribers who have opened a message on the selected list within the specified date range by top countries and states to help you target your email marketing efforts by geographic location. The location is determined by the IP address of the contact receiving the message.


Opens by Time of Day

To dig even deeper into the activity level, the opens by time of day bar chart shows the time of day your messages are being opened. This will help you determine future deployment schedules. This graph will show the aggregate of all opens across all messages in the selected timeframe.
