If you already have a Listrak Conductor Conversation set up, you can add a group of contacts into the conversation by using Listrak's List Import Wizard Tool. You may want to add a group of contacts to a specific conversation based on a profile field. For example, a group of contacts who are becoming disengaged with your brand.

Identify Contacts

If you already have a list of contacts, you may skip this step.

Using Listrak's legacy filtering system, you will be able to identify the criteria the contacts who will be entered into the Conductor Conversation must meet. This can include criteria based on order data, data in profile fields, and email engagement.

⚠️ Legacy filtering is list-specific. Ensure you are on the list associated with these contacts.

In this example, the filter is identifying a group of contacts that have subscribed at least 30 days ago.

  1. Navigate to Contacts > Email Contacts View Subscribed Contacts.

  2. Adjust the date range if you want to include all contacts. By default the report will find contacts who have subscribed in the last 30 days.

  3. Navigate to the bottom of the page and click Edit Filter.

  4. Adjust your filter criteria to meet your specific goal.

πŸ’‘ For example, System Fields > Subscribe Date > Is Before > 30 Days Before Today.

πŸ’‘ Adjust this filter to find the contacts who meet your specific goals.

  5. Click Update.

  6. Then Apply Filter.

  7. At the top of the page, click the Export button.

  8. Select the export settings.

⚠️ Only .csv and .txt files can be used in the list import wizard.

Create an External Event

The next step is to create an external event, if you don't already have one set up for the conversation. The external event will allow you to specify which contacts should be entered into the campaign.

  1. Navigate to Automation > Conductor External Events.

  2. Click New Event.

  3. Name the event something easily to identify. E.g. Existing Contacts

One or multiple external events can be added to each trigger step. When a contact is imported with the specified event, or takes an action associated with the event, they enter into the specified thread. After you've added the external event to the conversation, please republish the conversation.

Adding Contacts to the Conversation

After you have exported a list of contacts and have an external event set up, follow the below steps to add your contacts to your conversation.

  1. Navigate to Contacts > Email Contacts Import List Wizard.

  2. Choose from One-Time Import or Recurring Import

  3. Select Add/Update Subscribers.

  4. Click Choose File.

  5. Select the File from the export.

  6. Click Next Step.

  7. Be sure Email Address is selected for the Email column.

  8. Click Add Segment.

  9. Select the External Event from the drop-down menu. For example, this conversation is using the Re-engagement event.

πŸ’‘ These will appear near the bottom of the list.

  10. Click Next Step.

  11. Confirm the layout looks correct.

  12. Click Import File

Importing this file of contacts executes the external event. Check out the Visual Analytics in Conductor to be sure contacts are entering the conversation.
