Profile Fields for Email Subscription Points

In this article we will set up Profile Fields to track the source of your subscribers, as well as additional Contact Information.

Use Profile Fields in segmentation or personalization to message a target audience. The fields can be mapped to subscription points in order to capture the data from your website. There is more generalized info about Profile Fields here. If you would like to do this, follow the steps below.

Creating Source Profile Fields

These fields will be used to identify the website subscription point that the customer used to subscribe. These fields can be used to track which subscription points have the highest acquisition rates or used in filtering to determine who should receive specific messages

  1. Select the Master List from the list drop-down menu.

  2. Navigate to Contacts > Email Contacts Profile Fields.

  3. Select the Source Field Group.

    πŸ’‘ If no group exists, click Create Field Group at the bottom of the page and name it Source.

  4. Type name in Field Name (E.g.: Newsletter).

  5. Select Checkbox as the Data Type.

  6. Click the Update Icon to save.

Configuring Additional Profile Fields

If there is additional personal information available in form fields where the customer subscribes on your website, and you would like to use them for segmentation, you will need to create additional fields following the process below.

  1. Select the Master List from the list drop-down menu.

  2. Navigate to Contacts > Email Contacts Profile Fields.

  3. Select the CustomerInfo Field Group.

  4. πŸ’‘ If no group exists, click Create Field Group at the bottom of the page and name the group.

  5. Type name in Field Name that relates to the information you are collecting (E.g.: First Name).

  6. Select appropriate Data Type.

    πŸ’‘ The numeric data type option should be used for data that is filtered based on their numeric input, such as greater than. Data that contains numbers, but should be evaluated as whole, such as zip code, should be stored as text.

  7. Input Size (Optional character count limit).

  8. Click the Update Icon to save.
